As a competence center for Turn & Mill with extensive automation expertise, the traditional factory is a central meeting point for decision-makers and visionaries in machining. The Additive Manufacturing Precision Factory also demonstrates the potential of additive process chains in demanding industries. The audience will experience live how the Machining Transformation (MX) paves the way for the manufacturing of the future using around 25 machines. The machines from the BX portfolio, including the CLX TC and DMX U models, facilitate the entry. Seminars and workshops deepen the key trends in machining and provide practical impulses for production. Additionally, various DMQP partners (DMG MORI Qualified Products) provide insights into the peripherals of machine tools, such as tools, tool presetting, or measurement technology.

New Technologies for the Manufacturing of the Future

Building on a unique tradition in machine tool construction, DMG MORI combines technological innovation with accumulated industrial experience. The company does not view additive manufacturing as a standalone technology, but as an integral part of holistic process chains from additive manufacturing to precise subtractive finishing, automation, digitalization, and lifecycle services. This results in scalable manufacturing solutions that have proven themselves in use and offer long-term investment security.

Turning-Milling Competence for 6-Sided Complete Machining

Given increasingly complex geometries, turning-milling centers are gaining importance. The models of the CTX TC and CLX TC series from Bielefeld realize 6-sided complete machining where previously at least two machines and multiple setups were required. This is made possible by integrating multiple technologies in one workspace: By combining turning, milling, and, if necessary, gear cutting and grinding in one workspace, DMG MORI enables process-safe machining with a consistent focus on quality and efficiency. Solutions with B-axis and optional lower turret are suitable for highly economical production turning.

The product portfolio covers a wide range of components. The entry into universal turning-milling processing is the CLX 450 TC. The consistent continuation of the series is the CTX gamma 3000 TC for workpiece lengths up to 3,000 mm. It exemplifies the comprehensive technology integration of the CTX TC series and its status as an industry benchmark for complete machining.

Optimal Machine Utilization through Automated Manufacturing

Automation solutions help to fully exploit the potential of complete machining. Only through consistently automated loading and unloading processes can long runtimes be ensured while maintaining constant quality and economical machine utilization. At the same time, personnel gain additional resources for qualified activities in production preparation or quality control. In the spirit of a sustainable manufacturing strategy, DMG MORI complements these approaches with tailored retrofit solutions, enabling existing machines to be specifically automated and integrated into modern production concepts.

While the established bar loader excels primarily in series production with continuous material supply, flexible workpiece or pallet handling showcases its strengths in small and medium batch sizes. In this area, DMG MORI presents the innovation Robo2Go of the third generation, which is also seen for the first time in the Robo2Go Milling 3rd Generation version. Additionally, the powerful Robo2Go Max with a load capacity of 210 kg can be experienced live. The modular PH Cell 300 also enables automated 5-axis simultaneous machining on a DMC 75 monoBLOCK.

Process Chain for Precision Components from the Powder Bed

The Additive Manufacturing Precision Factory connects metallic 3D printing in the powder bed of a LASERTEC SLM machine with precise finishing on universal machines like the DMU 50 or DMU 65 monoBLOCK. This process chain combines the best of both worlds: Additive manufacturing allows for nearly limitless design freedoms in construction, such as contour-adjacent cooling channels in tools. The final milling ensures that holes, threads, and surfaces meet accuracy requirements. DMG MORI supports the entry into this manufacturing strategy with the consulting unit Additive Intelligence. Experts there assist users in identifying suitable components and developing the corresponding process. This is initially tested in the Additive Manufacturing Precision Factory before production is seamlessly ramped up at the customer's site.

High System Availability through Tailored Spare Parts Supply

A reliable spare parts supply is a crucial factor for the long-term productivity and availability of machine tools. DMG MORI supports users throughout the entire lifecycle with a comprehensive spare parts concept – from the quick identification of suitable original spare parts to short delivery times and long-term support even for older machines. In combination with digital services and retrofit measures, downtime can be reduced, and existing production facilities can be specifically adapted to new requirements while investments are protected in the long term.

Competitive through Machining Transformation (MX)

These holistic manufacturing solutions and processes are the result of a forward-thinking mindset. DMG MORI aligns itself along the pillars of Machining Transformation (MX): Process integration, automation, digital transformation (DX), and green transformation (GX). The goal is to transform individual machining steps into seamless and efficient production systems. By intelligently combining these four areas, manufacturing concepts are created that increase productivity and flexibility while simultaneously reducing resource consumption. At the in-house exhibition in Bielefeld, DMG MORI demonstrates through concrete applications how these approaches can be implemented in practice and how users can remain sustainably competitive.

BX: Efficient Access to Machining Transformation (MX)

DMG MORI makes the path to Machining Transformation (MX) even more accessible: The BX portfolio stands for an easy entry into modern manufacturing. Machines like the CLX 550 TC in the turning-milling area and the DMX 60 U for 5-axis machining represent an economical and powerful entry into future-oriented production.
They are already consistently designed for process-integrated and automated manufacturing in the base version. In combination with selected MX options, they open up additional possibilities from application-specific automation solutions to the use of the innovative CELOS X control platform for maximum connectivity.
Complemented by digital solutions such as DMG MORI technology cycles, a seamless access to the MX ecosystem is created. This enables BX machines to provide efficient and economical manufacturing for a large part of daily applications while simultaneously laying the foundation for increasing demands and future growth.
