From March 2 to 5, 2027, Leipzig will become the central meeting point for Central European manufacturing technology and industrial supply. For four days, the fairs Intec – focusing on machine tools, manufacturing, and automation technology – and Z – a strong partner for parts, components, assemblies, and digital services – will put efficient production processes in the spotlight. Numerous market leaders such as Yamazaki Mazak, INDEX, Niles-Simmons, Paul Horn, and United Machining have already registered. Trade visitors from the machinery, plant, and vehicle construction sectors can expect a high-quality platform that connects practical solutions directly with future topics such as the latest methods of additive manufacturing and innovative production technologies for hydrogen technology.

With their focus on the Central and Eastern European market, Intec and Z will set important impulses for the manufacturing and supply industry in 2027,” explains Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipzig Messe. “Here, market leaders and users meet directly – whether to set technical topics, secure cross-border supply chains, or explore new markets. Leipzig is the place in 2027 where personal exchanges will turn into concrete business.

Intec is the most important industry meeting for metalworking in Germany in 2027. Here, professionals can not only experience innovative tool solutions, modern measuring technology, and forward-looking manufacturing technologies live but also exchange ideas directly with users, manufacturers, and researchers to set new impulses for the industrial future,” adds Markus Heseding, Managing Director of the VDMA Precision Tools and Measuring and Testing Technology associations. “That’s why we are actively engaging with our member companies at Intec, for example, at the FORUM.interaktiv, and shaping the knowledge transfer of the industry.

Practical knowledge for everyday manufacturing

In addition to the comprehensive exhibition, the professional program of Intec and Z addresses central developments in the industry. As a knowledge platform, the FORUM.interaktiv highlights proven approaches to increasing efficiency and automation in everyday production. Experts from industry and research discuss the ongoing digitalization, modern manufacturing strategies, and solutions for higher energy and material efficiency. On March 5, the focus will be on the skilled workers of tomorrow. At the industry youth day, trainees, students, and aspiring engineers will come together directly with the exhibiting companies.

The technology forum Additive Manufacturing also showcases future-oriented perspectives. Throughout the fair days, the focus will be on the further development of industrial 3D printing. In addition to the innovative technology, the seamless integration into the manufacturing industry is a priority.

Future technology hydrogen – hy.tec puts practice in the spotlight

With hy.tec, the trade fair duo addresses an important development area of industrial transformation with a view to higher energy resilience. The special format, which was successfully held in June 2026 at Fraunhofer IWU in Chemnitz, brings its practical approach back to Leipzig: The focus is on scalable manufacturing and supply processes for key components such as electrolyzers and fuel cells. The hy.tec specifically bridges to mechanical engineering and the supply industry, whose expertise is a crucial foundation for serial implementation.

New startup area and international welcome lounge

For new impulses in the manufacturing world, the Intec-Z-startups area is being introduced for the first time. It offers young companies an independent platform to present smart software solutions, novel technologies, and innovative processes. Companies can apply for the area until January 15, 2027.

The International Welcome Lounge of the Economic Development Saxony ensures cross-border networking and the establishment of new supply chains. “Intec and Z have always been a pace-setter for manufacturing technology and the supply industry beyond German borders – especially for our European neighboring markets like Poland and the Czech Republic,” emphasizes project director Ulrike Lange. “With the newly designed International Welcome Lounge, the offerings for our guests from abroad are being specifically expanded.” On-site, trade visitors in the lounge receive initial orientation, can participate in guided tours, and are actively supported in networking.

A targeted preparation for the trade fair visit is also facilitated by the established CONTACT Business Meetings – organized by the Enterprise Europe Network (ENN) & IHK zu Leipzig. Through a digital tool, appointments can be definitively scheduled in advance and optimally integrated into the trade fair visit.
