The trade fair booth was consistently well attended, and especially the functional package hyperMILL VIRTUAL Machining with the possibility of NC code-based simulation attracted great interest. Solutions for turning and the various automation functions of the CAD/CAM suite were also in demand. The Hummingbird-MES also received a lot of attention, with numerous visitors seeking information either specifically or spontaneously.

In hyperMILL VIRTUAL Machining, you see one-to-one what will happen on the machine. This becomes particularly vivid when we demonstrate it, and even more impressive when you understand: The simulation is based on the machine data and the real NC code,” explains Ales Vurusic, Team Leader Sales Central at OPEN MIND Technologies AG. “Customers then realize: Being able to use a digital twin of the entire machining process provides an unprecedented level of safety for workpieces and machines.”

Automated Programming

Especially visitors who are already working with hyperMILL took the opportunity to have the automation possibilities for CAM programming explained. Automating routine tasks is particularly interesting for companies where work preparation becomes a bottleneck.
Although most visitors were primarily interested in creating NC codes for milling, the workstation with hyperMILL TURNING Solutions also attracted many visitors. The same applies to the presentation of the Manufacturing Execution System Hummingbird. One feature of the MES particularly appealed to hyperMILL users: centralized tool management.
