Sandvik Tooling Deutschland GmbH, business unit Sandvik Coromant, has been awarded the audit berufundfamilie certificate for the fifth consecutive time – again with the distinction for particularly committed companies. The ceremonial handover of the certificate took place on June 17, 2025, in Berlin and was conducted by Mareike Wulf, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, and Oliver Schmitz, Managing Director of berufundfamilie Service GmbH. The company thus reaffirms its commitment to providing employees with a modern and life-phase-oriented working environment.

Since 2012, Sandvik Coromant has been pursuing a family- and compatibility-conscious personnel policy with this strategic approach. The auditing process, which takes place every three years, includes a structured assessment of the current situation as well as the further development of existing measures. In 2024, Sandvik Coromant once again participated in the so-called dialogue procedure, which is specifically designed for long-certified companies. It offers the opportunity to further develop existing standards at a high level and to set new impulses.

For Barbara Thaler-Rohr, HR Business Partner Sales DACH, this is an important building block for the company's future viability: "With the current audit, we have consciously focused on the topic of age-appropriate work, as our workforce not only brings a lot of experience but also has a high average age. It was important for us to take a close look: What needs do our employees have from a certain age? Where are we doing well – and where can we improve? The award with distinction confirms: We are dealing with the right questions and actively shaping a working world that empowers people in all life phases."

This year's award was under the motto "#agematters – age-conscious attractive." For Sandvik Coromant, however, this is more than just a buzzword: The company actively responds to demographic changes in the working world by taking concrete measures. These include individual perspective discussions for employees from a defined age, flexible working models, and an expansion of occupational health management.

With the renewed distinction certificate, Sandvik Coromant reaffirms its claim to be not only a technological pioneer but also an attractive and responsible employer – in all life phases of its employees.
