Flexible and powerful laser tube cutting machine

With nine kilowatts of laser power, the new TruLaser Tube 7000 from TRUMPF processes higher wall thicknesses particularly quickly and cuts pipes with diameters from 12 to 290 millimeters thanks to an expanded envelope circle

At the Tube trade fair, the high-tech company TRUMPF presents its new, even more productive laser tube cutting machine TruLaser Tube 7000. With nine kilowatts of laser power, the machine processes thicker wall sections with nitrogen as the cutting gas particularly quickly. For example, with eight millimeter thick structural steel, productivity increases by up to 30 percent and feed rate by up to 150 percent. This allows companies to increase their throughput and reduce costs per part. Additionally, the solution provides users with significantly more flexibility in laser tube processing, as larger wall thicknesses can also be processed.

More flexibility thanks to expanded envelope circle

"In today's laser tube processing, flexibility and productivity are paramount. Users expect the highest speed and accuracy for components with small diameters. On the other hand, they want to be able to process very large diameters with sometimes high wall thicknesses using the same machine. The TruLaser Tube 7000 combines these opposites, having increased the maximum tube size and possible wall thickness compared to the predecessor model," says TRUMPF product manager Lucas Stix. Thanks to a significantly enlarged envelope circle of 290 millimeters, square tubes measuring 203.2 x 203.2 millimeters, round tubes with a diameter of 273 millimeters, and rectangular tubes with a side length of up to 254 millimeters can be processed. The machine also cuts small tubes with a diameter starting from twelve millimeters extremely quickly and precisely.

Highest part quality thanks to intelligent assistance systems

To assess the raw material, TRUMPF has enhanced the proven "ScanLine" function with the "Quality Pilot". If the material is uneven or of poor quality, ScanLine uses light section sensors to measure the tolerances and makes compensations. With the new additional function "Quality Pilot", the machine independently decides based on the raw material quality of each individual tube whether ScanLine measurements are necessary and how frequently they should occur. This allows users to avoid unnecessary measurement cycles and save time. The new function "ObserveLine Comfort" also enables users to achieve the highest part quality. After processing, the machine's cutting head moves over the cut contour and checks with a weak laser pulse whether the slug has completely fallen out of the tube. Users not only gain more process reliability but also reduce manual rework. With the new technology "ObserveLine Edge", pre-punched tubes and profiles can also be processed effortlessly. The machine independently identifies existing contours in the tube with the laser beam and automatically adjusts the part program accordingly. This gives companies additional freedom, especially when they want to process purchased semi-finished products.

Digital services reduce unplanned downtimes

With the new generation of the TruLaser Tube 7000, users gain full access to TRUMPF's digital service world. The digital service "Condition Monitoring" analyzes machine data in real-time, for example, and reports early when components are wearing out or values deviate from the target range. This way, failures can be prevented before they lead to production stoppages. A low-staff operation is ensured by the standard equipment loading device LoadMaster Tube. With the tipping discharge station, the machine can also be fully automated to connect to a tube storage and complement automatic unloading solutions. In combination with appropriate software solutions and interfaces, companies can seamlessly integrate the TruLaser Tube 7000 into a Smart Factory.

Ideal for varying quantities and requirements

TRUMPF is launching the TruLaser Tube 7000 in various loading and unloading lengths of up to 12.5 meters. The machine is aimed at companies that want to remain flexible, economically produce small and large quantities, and simultaneously respond to changing requirements. This includes machine and plant engineering, facade and building construction, vehicle manufacturing, or the agricultural and construction machinery industry.
