
At booth C36 in Hall 3, the two tool specialists will showcase their comprehensive range of tools and specific application possibilities, addressing two central industry topics: rising raw material prices, particularly for tungsten, and the growing need for process reliability in automated manufacturing processes. The focus will be on real application cases, 3D-lasered chip shape geometries, and the modular milling tool system simmill 9W. The SIMTEK Group will also address processes and services at their trade fair booth.

"We demonstrate how current challenges in machining can be concretely solved: from reliable chip control to specific processing concepts for real components to strategies for more efficient use of carbide," says Jeremia Geiger, Executive Board member of SIMTEK AG responsible for sales and marketing, adding: "AMB provides us with the ideal framework as a leading industry trade fair, and we are very much looking forward to many interesting conversations with customers, partners, and interested parties."
Lasered chip geometries
One of the central themes at the trade fair is tools with 3D-lasered chip shape geometries, which SIMTEK has already introduced to a broad professional audience for the first time at AMB 2024. For this purpose, highly precise surrounding cutting geometries are integrated into ground carbide cutting tools using lasers. This results in hybrid tool solutions that strategically combine the strengths of both processes, offering users various advantages. A significant advantage lies in the increase in process reliability through the optimization of chip control. "The increase in process reliability through our laser tools can be a crucial factor, especially for automated machining processes," explains the Sales and Marketing Executive. "Additionally, laser tools often exhibit an increased functionality and can thereby reduce process times or even save tools."
According to Geiger, a crucial foundation for the efficient design of 3D-lasered geometries is close communication with customers. "For optimal design of a lasered geometry, close exchange with the customer regarding material and cutting value constellations, as well as other process-influencing aspects, is essential. Therefore, we aim to specifically utilize personal conversations with our customers and partners at AMB to further intensify this close communication by demonstrating the resulting customer benefits."
Modular tool system with high performance capability
The current cost situation in the raw material sector continues to concern the industry. It is all the more pleasing for Geiger that SIMTEK can offer a solution with a modular milling tool system that can come close to the performance capability of material-intensive monoblock tools. "With simmill 9W, we offer a system that requires significantly less raw material due to its modular design, yet performance-wise comes very close to monoblock tools." The basis for this high performance capability is a highly developed gearing technology from the sister company Kaestner-Tools. The ground gearing offers very high stability in applications with high speeds, as well as very high precision in round and flat running with minimal wear at the interface.
Since the introduction of the system with the twelve-edged variant simmill 9W4 with a cutting circle diameter of 50.0 mm and milling depths of up to 16.5 mm, new sizes have been developed. "We now offer in standard with the extensions simmill 9W1 with a cutting circle diameter of 28.0 mm and a possible milling depth of 9.3 mm, as well as simmill 9W5 with a cutting circle diameter of 63.0 mm and milling depths of up to 21.0 mm, additional variants of this high-performance capable system," reports Geiger.
"At AMB, we will showcase all currently available sizes and also illustrate, using real components, how these can be efficiently utilized in production." Further sizes are expected to follow according to SIMTEK.
Real components and VR experience
The tools of the SIMTEK Group offer a variety of possibilities in various industrial sectors. "To provide visitors with a realistic impression of the tool solutions from both manufacturers SIMTEK and Kaestner, we will showcase various exemplary application possibilities using real components," Geiger provides further insights. Additionally, visitors can experience a tool interactively in action through a virtual reality experience.
Processes and services
The SIMTEK Group also uses AMB 2026 to present customer-oriented processes and services alongside their tool solutions to industry visitors. For example, visitors can be informed by experts from both manufacturers about the long-established priotool service - a system-controlled express path through the in-house value creation chains for the maximum possible prioritized production of special tools.
"With priotool, we offer customers of the SIMTEK Group a planned express production of tools that they urgently need in certain situations," reports Evstratios Ountzidis, Head of Sales and Marketing at SIMTEK AG and Authorized Signatory of SIMTEK Precision Tools GmbH, who co-developed and implemented this conceptual digital approach.
Furthermore, the trade fair booth will also address topics such as the regrinding of tools or the transition of tool packaging from new plastics to recyclates.
