With the launch of the new CBN grinding pin series 9921 in July 2026, ZECHA Hardmetal Tool Manufacturing GmbH from Königsbach-Stein expands its portfolio for the sustainable processing of powder steels. The new series is characterized by significantly lower wear at the same chip volume, enabling more economical and resource-saving production.
At AMB 2026 in September, the market introduction of the new micro-PEACOCK series for the machining of steels with hardnesses from 60 to 67 HRC will follow. The ball and torus tools are available in diameters from 0.3 to 1.0 mm and feature a short, particularly stable geometry design. The program is complemented by Ø intermediate dimensions in 0.05 mm increments, allowing for precise adaptation to demanding machining tasks. The result is a significant reduction in tool wear.
Also at AMB 2026, the existing CBN program for the machining of steels with 48 to 67 HRC will be further expanded. A polishing series will be newly added, significantly reducing manual polishing effort. By using CBN tools, users also benefit from a significant increase in tool life and higher process reliability.
Our latest development in precision tools with PKD inserts is the micro-PKD drills. They enable highly precise machining for future industries such as semiconductors, medical technology, and precision mechanics. Laser-generated cutting contours ensure low cutting forces, long tool life, and maximum process reliability – even at diameters up to 50 µm. With these new micro-precision tools, ZECHA is also competing for the AMB Award this year in the field of precision tools.
In addition, ZECHA is further expanding the existing product range. In addition to the series expansion of the QUEEN BEE, additional dimensions will soon be available for already established series. This includes new ball end mills with 3 or 4 cutting edges as well as new shank mills with 4 or 6 cutting edges. This expands ZECHA's application possibilities for its precision tools and offers users even more flexibility for demanding machining tasks.
Another highlight is the new VHM thread whirling series PEACOCK 461H. It combines drilling, thread milling, and chamfering in one tool, enabling particularly economical machining of standard and fine threads in a variety of materials up to a hardness of 67 HRC. By combining several machining steps, machining effort and tool changes can be significantly reduced. High tool life and reproducible results support a process-safe and efficient thread manufacturing.
