After many years of collaboration with Hommel GmbH, the Japanese manufacturer of high-quality CNC lathes and turning-milling centers, Nakamura-Tome, has restructured the sales and service responsibilities in Germany and Austria. From now on, Nakamura-Tome Precision Industry GmbH based in Germany will take over these tasks directly, ending the previous cooperation with Hommel GmbH.
With this strategic step, the company aims to intensify customer proximity, further optimize service quality, and sustainably strengthen its market position in the leading machine tool market in Europe.
The sales and service units in Cologne and Ingelheim have already been fully integrated into the Nakamura-Tome organization. Additionally, Nakamura-Tome and Hommel will continue to work closely and trustfully during a transition phase to ensure a smooth process. For customers and business partners, the familiar corporate environment will remain largely unchanged. To ensure continuity and transparency, the vast majority of familiar contacts will still be available unchanged.
The new management structure in the sales and service area includes:
- Sales Manager: André Merten
André Merten brings nearly 25 years of experience with Nakamura-Tome products. In his new role, he will lead the sales department and significantly drive growth and customer relationships.
Dieter Radke has more than 24 years of experience in sales & application technology as well as extensive market and product knowledge. He is now working as a product manager at Nakamura-Tome Precision Industry GmbH and is significantly supporting the strategic development of the product portfolio.
- Service Manager: Friedhelm Schmitz
Friedhelm Schmitz has 26 years of experience with the Nakamura-Tome product portfolio. He will continue to serve as service manager, ensuring high service quality and reliable customer support with his expertise.
With a well-coordinated, experienced team that has been active in the German market for many years, Nakamura-Tome plans to serve its customers even more efficiently in the future. This includes optimized service deployments, expanded technical support, and tailored automation solutions for various industry requirements. The focus is on more efficient spare parts logistics, regular machine presentations, and technical support for large and automation projects. Furthermore, the German subsidiary will serve as a central point of contact for Germany and Europe in the future.
