With its modular central filter systems (ZFA), the filter manufacturer Vomat from Treuen provides tailored solutions for the fine filtration of cooling lubricants – from compact systems to large-scale industrial projects. A current example from Southern Europe shows how flexibly the systems can be adapted to capacity and process changes – and that with the highest resource efficiency.

For economical, process-safe, and high-quality tool grinding, absolutely clean grinding oil is indispensable. The filter manufacturer Vomat specializes in cleaning cooling lubricants (KSS) at the highest level – energy and resource-efficient, flexibly scalable, and individually tailored to the requirements of the metalworking industry. In addition to the compact individual systems of the FA series, central filter systems (ZFA) are particularly used by tool manufacturers and grinders.

Steffen Strobel, Sales Manager at Vomat: 'A current large project in Southern Europe illustrates what we are capable of: our technicians installed a central filter system that centrally supplies several production lines and can still be easily modified in response to changing requirements. With a maximum filter capacity of 12,000 liters per minute and a tank volume of 60,000 liters, this ZFA is one of the largest systems of its kind in the metalworking industry. This underscores our expertise in implementing particularly challenging filtration concepts.'

The special feature: Vomat ZFA consists of separate modules that can be freely combined as needed. This allows for customized system concepts that meet current production conditions and can be quickly expanded or adapted as capacities increase or change. This applies to medium-sized companies as well as large projects.

The basic modules, such as the model ZFA 1200 with compact dimensions of 1200 × 1200 × 2200 mm, achieve filter fineness of 3 to 5 µm and operate with precise, demand-oriented full-flow filtration in the backwash process. In this process, dirty and clean oil are separated 100 percent, and filter aids are not required. Due to structural features, clean oil in NAS Class 7 is always available during backwashing.

The cooling technology is designed specifically for the process – with a control accuracy of ± 0.2 K – and can optionally be operated via external evaporators or cold water. Energy-optimized machine supply pumps, automated disposal units for material recycling, and a central PLC control with remote control function complete the concept. Overall, the system concept allows for a high degree of automation with simultaneously low maintenance effort.

The result: significantly longer service life of cooling lubricants and grinding wheels, reduced maintenance and energy expenditure, and minimized machine downtime. This ensures that metal processors worldwide – from individual tool grinders to large series manufacturers – benefit not only technically but also economically from the latest KSS fine filtration.

Steffen Strobel: 'With thoughtful technology, Vomat delivers sustainable filtration solutions that reduce operating costs and conserve resources – without compromising on quality and precision. The XXL system in Southern Europe is a very nice example of how customer-specific challenges can be mastered with technological strength and a clear focus on efficiency.'
