The TDM Release 2026 enables automatic and seamless data transfer to the machine via a standard connection, without interruptions or manual intermediate steps. Additionally, mobile apps provide quick access to data and tasks directly in the machine and storage environment. This allows tools to be booked immediately via barcode to cost centers and NC programs to be retrieved 'on the go'.

A key highlight of the 2026 release is the new standardized machine integration interface TDM Machine Data Connector (TDM MDC) to further support and accelerate automation on the shop floor. TDM had already offered several dedicated solutions, but thanks to the new standardized machine connection, TDM now also communicates with the most common machine controls on the market. Thus, the interface is already available today for Heidenhain controls and will be available for Siemens and Fanuc controls from mid-2026. This means that all tool-relevant information – from master data to wear values – is exchanged seamlessly and bidirectionally with the machine controls, without manual intervention. The new interface operates in standard mode without additional adjustments. This ensures complete transparency, enables proactive planning, and results in significant productivity increases.
TDM ScanEasy, the optimized mobile barcode scanner for the shop floor, now supports all tool storage processes, inventory, and quantity bookings. The significantly simplified workflows help manage items on the shop floor more quickly and efficiently. In addition to querying item data, tools can now be booked mobile in any situation, whether at the workplace or at the machine. The new dynamic search function requires only the input of a few letters to immediately display matching item suggestions.
One of the biggest advantages of TDM is its high integrability and connectivity with other systems. Starting with Release 2026, TDM also supports communication with the logistics solution CRIBWISE (Sandvik) for the manufacturing industry. This includes the exchange of component data, synchronization of inventories, and inventory bookings in both systems. By jointly using TDM and CRIBWISE, TDM users can implement automated ordering processes and a transparent storage structure for consumable tools. And thanks to synchronization, both systems are always up to date.
A new feature in the Integrated TDM NC Program Manager is the TDM NC Web Transfer, which enables mobile, browser-based provision of approved NC programs. These can be stored for further use in machine-near directories or returned to the machine after optimization. This saves time, creates more transparency in the machine environment, and increases the utility of the TDM Integrated NC Program Manager.
Since measuring and testing equipment is often calibrated and tested by external service providers, the corresponding results are usually not immediately available to users of the TDM measuring and testing equipment module.
By transferring calibration data from external systems, users can optimize this process as well as their measuring and testing equipment management.
The TDM Release 2026 also offers comprehensive new functions for data entry and data maintenance. This ensures efficient processing of bulk data for components and complete tools – including easy conversion from imperial to metric values and vice versa, automatic generation of collision data for large data volumes, deletion of graphics or data in specific fields, optimized measurement of graphics, and simplified assembly of complex tools.
“With the TDM Release 2026, we are taking the next step towards consistent digital tool management across the entire shop floor,” says Matthias Gröger, Head of Product TDM at TDM Systems. “Our focus is not only on the digital management of tool data but also on ensuring better networking of the entire system. For our customers, this means increased productivity, less downtime, and maximally utilized machines.”
