Cybersecurity is increasingly becoming a decisive success factor in machine and plant engineering. It complements functional safety and significantly contributes to ensuring the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of modern production systems. With the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the European Union is creating a uniform legal framework for the cybersecurity of products with digital elements. 'We took the right steps early on: Since the beginning of the year, our development process has been certified according to IEC 62443 4 1. In parallel, we have established a Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) and entered into a cooperation with the Cyber Emergency Response Team of VDE (CERT@VDE).

'This underlines our commitment to delivering permanently secure and robust products in line with the Cyber Resilience Act,' explains Bernd Hermann, Head of Development at EUCHNER. At the same time, EUCHNER supports machine manufacturers and operators with comprehensive consulting on cybersecurity requirements in the industry. This includes threat and risk analyses, the identification of security vulnerabilities, and support in implementing security-by-design concepts. For questions regarding compliance, vulnerability management, and security updates, EUCHNER stands by as a competent partner.

Seamless secure communication with IO-Link Safety

With the combination of robust security components and IO-Link Safety, EUCHNER is unlocking new possibilities for seamless, secure communication in automation.

The last 20 meters between control and field devices have long been considered the bottleneck of automation: Sensors and actuators had to be wired individually, while increasing demands for safety and diagnostics continuously raised the wiring effort. With IO-Link Safety, EUCHNER offers a solution that significantly reduces this complexity. Instead of many individual wires, a standardized connection suffices for the transmission of data and signals.
