New additional modules reduce axial forces during thread cutting and improve process stability on CNC machines with synchronized spindles.

BIG DAISHOWA, a provider of high-precision tool systems for the metalworking industry, presents the new Synchro Adjusters for the MEGA Synchro thread cutting chucks. They are part of the modular MEGA Synchro system, which impresses with high process stability, reduced force peaks, and optimized thread quality.

Thread cutting with higher process reliability

Thread cutting is one of the most demanding finishing processes. Even slight deviations in the synchronization of feed and spindle speed can generate significant axial and retraction forces – often resulting in tool breakage, poor thread quality, or scrap. Especially in series production, consistent thread quality is indispensable.

BIG DAISHOWA's solution is deliberately simple and modular. It is suitable for all modern CNC machines with synchronized spindles and replaces less efficient collet chuck solutions – especially in combination with the new adjusters.

"With the MEGA Synchro System, we provide users with a practical solution," says Christian David, Head of Sales at BIG DAISHOWA. "High coolant flow, precise guidance, and adaptive force compensation ensure that consistently safe results are achieved from the delicate M1 thread to the robust M36 connection."

Precision for small and large threads
The MEGA Synchro program includes three subfamilies:

  • MGT3: compact monoblock type up to M3, available for all machine interfaces.
  • MGT6/12/20: modular system with 50 basic holders and 180 extensions up to
200 mm length, for thread sizes M3 to M20.
  • MGT36: for large taps from M20 to M36, with 30 extension types and
corresponding basic holder for each machine interface.

All models are designed to be slim, allowing for generous internal coolant flow and are therefore ideal for deep hole thread cutting.

Synchro Adjusters: compact additional modules with great impact

The new Synchro Adjusters are positioned between the basic holder and tool holder
and add defined axial flexibility to the system. This effectively absorbs the force peaks that occur when inserting and retracting the tap – tool breakage is significantly reduced, and thread quality is noticeably improved.

There are two variants:

  • Soft Type: the more flexible version for universal thread cutting and
maximum protection of tool and workpiece.
  • Hard Type: for taps with eccentric relief, where less
    flexibility is required.

In combination with the MEGA Synchro holders, the system provides a proven
reduction of force peaks and a more stable machining – regardless of thread size
and material.
