In recent years, the demand for lightweight, high-strength aluminum components has increased due to advancements in vehicle fuel efficiency and the rise of electric vehicles (EVs). Furthermore, the increasing use of smaller machines in manufacturing has led to a growing need for milling cutters to efficiently and effectively process aluminum parts. The MD90 cutter not only meets these requirements but also offers potential cost savings through high efficiency and quality. This makes it an attractive option for manufacturers.

The MD90 cutter is equipped with 24 inserts and a diameter of 125 mm. This allows for highly efficient and high-quality machining of aluminum parts.

Key features of the MD90 milling cutter

1. Maximizing machining efficiency. The unique shape of the holder ensures high rigidity, even with the closest pitch. The design reduces the tendency to chatter and enables highly efficient machining with a table feed rate of Vf ≥ 24,000 mm/min.

2. Lightweight aluminum basic holders. Lightweight aluminum milling bodies are also available, suitable for small machines (BT30).

3. Achieves high-quality production results. The PKD (polycrystalline diamond) inserts - were specifically developed to reduce burr formation and achieve a surface roughness of 0.8 µm Ra or less. The double coolant channels as well as the streamlined chip space structure provide excellent chip control and ensure smooth and precise machining as well as a long tool life.

4. Custom adaptation. Every application brings different requirements. For this reason, the MD90 cutter is available with individual configuration options. The cutting diameters can be selected in the range of Ø 20 to 350 mm. The cutting shape can also be specifically tailored to the respective application area. This flexibility allows for optimal utilization of the product potential
