High-profile visit at Müller Precision Tools in Sien in the Birkenfeld district (Rhineland-Palatinate): The newly elected Bundestag President Julia Klöckner (CDU) visited the special tool experts from her constituency on April 3rd. She was accompanied by her constituency office manager Annika Scheidt and CDU district association representatives Bernd Minwegen and Patrick Merscher. Klöckner informed herself in a conversation with Managing Director Mathias Schmidt about the current challenges and prospects of the regional medium-sized businesses: rising energy costs, ongoing skilled labor shortages, the crisis in the automotive industry, and increasing bureaucratic burdens. Strategies for dealing with the overall difficult economic situation were also discussed. The company Müller, which has made a name for itself regionally and beyond due to the high quality of its tools and strong commitment to training, aims to further diversify against this backdrop to reduce dependence on the struggling automotive industry. In the future, they plan to increasingly establish themselves in other areas such as dental technology and defense. Additionally, the company regularly participates in research projects, including the use of AI in machining.

Julia Klöckner assured the company of her support and emphasized how important direct contact with local entrepreneurs is. "To make federal policy for the people and businesses on site, one must remain in exchange. After all, the medium-sized businesses are the backbone of our economic strength. Müller is a positive example of serious business practices, innovative spirit, and the promotion of young skilled workers in our region," said Klöckner.

Managing Director Mathias Schmidt also expressed his pleasure about the visit: "It is good to know that federal politics is interested in the concerns of the local economy. Ms. Klöckner has already visited us for the third time – the exchange was, as always, very constructive and goal-oriented."

Klöckner announced that she would continue to advocate vigorously for the interests of medium-sized businesses in the ongoing coalition negotiations at the federal level. The visit to Sien has given her further impulses regarding which challenges businesses should specifically influence political decisions.
