Its stable construction, a rigid table with a loading weight of 2,200 kg and travel paths of 1,600 x 700 x 550 mm, is aimed primarily at customers who need to mill or drill large components quickly and precisely. Like the smaller sister models, the DMV 160 is also oriented towards the requirements of modern manufacturing in demanding industries such as Die & Mold, Mobility, or Aviation & Space. A tool magazine with up to 120 slots (SK40), 30 as standard, and compatibility with pallet handling systems like the PH Cell 300 ensure economical production with short auxiliary times.
Robust construction for highest dynamics
The DMV 160 is based on a monolithic machine frame with massive cast parts and linear guides in all axes. This keeps the machine stable and precise even in very demanding applications. The feed rate of 42 m/min ensures high dynamics and reduced cycle times. The available spindles provide high-performance machining: starting from the inlineMASTER 15,000 min-1, over the speedMASTER 15,000 min-1 HT (High Torque) & 20,000 min-1, to the powerMASTER with a torque of 430 Nm for heavy machining of titanium alloys or stainless steel – all with BIG PLUS interface and 36 months warranty. Thanks to direct drives in the X and Y axes, direct measuring systems, and a positioning accuracy of 4 µm, the DMV 160 consistently delivers precise results. An active cooling system for selected components ensures thermal stability even during long operating times.
Machining Transformation (MX)
To support every future-proof production, DMG MORI has developed the DMV 160 with a focus on the pillars of Machining Transformation (MX). CELOS X on the intuitively operable, 24-inch large ERGOline X Panel creates the perfect basis for a connected and digitized production. It allows seamless integration into corporate networks, further advancing digital transformation. Programming with graphical representation optionally supports either a Siemens SINUMERIK ONE or a HEIDENHAIN TNC 7. DMG MORI realizes autonomous manufacturing through the connection of pallet handling systems PH 150, PH Cell 300, or PH Cell Twin, which can be combined with another machining center. The workpiece handling is taken over by a Robo2Go Milling if needed. The DMV 160 can also be easily integrated into a shop floor with driverless transport systems like the PH-AMR 750. Furthermore, through energy-saving and resource-conserving operation, the DMV 160 also promotes the Green Transformation (GX) towards more sustainable manufacturing.
