
At AMB 2026, the ROEMHELD Group will focus on configurability, precision, flexibility, and intelligence. The clamping technology specialist presents a range of innovations for the precise clamping and movement of workpieces and loads. Target groups include not only classic machinists but also mechanical and plant engineering, the aerospace industry, and providers of automation solutions.

Together, Römheld GmbH Friedrichshütte and STARK Spannsysteme GmbH present numerous innovations – including self-configurable, particularly quickly deliverable clamping and support elements as well as clamping systems with sensors for position control via ultrasound.
Also new is a solution for the automated movement and fixation of heavy loads as well as zero-point and workpiece clamping systems for distortion-free clamping of large and complex structural and freeform components.
The STARK.spheric is complemented by a new height compensation; for the first time, the long-stroke machine vice HILMA.ASH with sensor technology and IO-Link communication will also be shown.
From large part machining to mechanical and plant engineering to automated, unmanned production: With the selection of exhibits, the ROEMHELD Group demonstrates that it provides the right clamping solution from a single source for almost every machining process. It will exhibit at AMB from September 15 to 19, 2026, in Stuttgart in Hall 1 at Stand B30.
Configure clamping tools yourself: more variety and quick availability
The characteristics of nearly unlimited product variety with short delivery times are being expanded by Römheld GmbH Friedrichshütte to more and more product groups. Users can assemble their individual clamping element via an order number key from defined designs, sizes, swivel angles, clamping strokes, and query options. Since all individual parts are in stock, Römheld assembles the desired version immediately after the order is received in Laubach and delivers as standard within a week. Three central configurable exhibits can be seen at AMB.
Swivel clamps without swivel stroke with an expanded flange program

For the first time, the company presents its hydraulic swivel clamp without swivel stroke with an expanded flange range. Its patented kinematics allows direct clamping in small, narrow recesses, grooves, cutouts, and closed pockets – even in confined construction spaces, with maximum clamping force and high repeat accuracy.
The clamping arm swivels in a plane without axial swivel movement. The clamping force is 6.5 kN at a maximum operating pressure of 220 bar and 8 mm horizontal stroke; vertically, it can be clamped at any position of the 4 mm clamping stroke.
A reinforced swivel mechanism reliably maintains the angular position even after slight collisions. The element is available in three sizes, newly with flange on top or bottom, with cone, pendulum eye, or fork head attachment, as well as right, left, or non-swiveling – everything is fully configurable.
New support elements
With a new series of screw-in support elements for up to 350 bar operating pressure, properties and functions can also be assembled individually. The components prevent vibrations and the bending of workpieces and can be installed in any position. They are available in three sizes with load capacities of up to 13 kN, either single or double acting hydraulically, with a metal scraping edge and optional pneumatic system control.
Robust swivel clamp with ultrasound position control

As a third configurable element, ROEMHELD presents a robust swivel clamp for up to 350 bar. Its highlight is a new sensor located in the oil chamber that measures the stroke path via ultrasound. The derived piston position reliably indicates whether the element is correctly, not, or incorrectly clamped.
The sensor calibrates itself automatically and is maintenance-free – more accurate and reliable than other measurement methods, making it ideal for unmanned production.
The compact element is available in four designs with different swivel directions, angles, and flange arrangements, as well as in a plug-in version, with various installation, connection, and position control options. A metallic protected scraper is included as standard.
Easily move and securely fix heavy loads
ROEMHELD also presents an easily modifiable solution for moving and fixing large, complex, and heavy devices under confined conditions. Ball roller tracks and lowerable clamping elements with lever kinematics are integrated into a machine table. A linear drive pushes the device mounted on a plate over ball roller tracks and lowered clamping elements to a fixed stop. Once this is reached, the clamping elements rise and fix the tool or device.
For aerospace and other industries: flexible clamping system for changing freeform surfaces

With the FSS clamping system ('Flexible Clamping and Supporting Systems') including control, changing freeform workpieces can be quickly and reliably fixed without forces acting on the component. Lightweight components made of plastic and aluminum up to 15 meters in length can thus be clamped precisely and without negative form – primarily for aerospace, as well as automotive and boat and rail vehicle construction.
The modular system is usable up to IP67 (also with coolant water use), positionable to ± 0.05 mm and repeatable to ± 0.02 mm. In fully automatic operation, it takes over all preparations unmanned – from loading the base plate to positioning to clamping and fixing. The actuators with up to 1,000 mm extendable, clamped piston rods adapt to the workpiece geometry; vacuum suckers at their heads fix the component.
STARK.spheric: distortion-free clamping now with height compensation
STARK Spannsysteme GmbH brings two major innovations to AMB. The first is the STARK.spheric, a zero-point clamping system that now also offers height compensation for the first time.
The element serves for distortion-free clamping of large and complex workpieces. In large part machining, it is considered a game-changer because it controllably compensates for internal stresses during material removal.
The innovative compensation mechanism is now available not only for the X and Y axes: In addition to pendulum compensation of ± 5° and length compensation of ± 1.5 mm, a height compensation of ± 2.5 mm in the Z-axis is now integrated.
This makes the system suitable for large workpieces with many clamping points. The target group includes all companies where distortion-free clamping enables higher precision and process reliability – aerospace industry, automated machining companies, system integrators, automation specialists, and machine builders.
Its strengths are demonstrated, for example, in aerospace structural components with high machining volumes as well as in welded large parts, whose clamping for reworking would otherwise be cumbersome.
Long-stroke clamp HILMA.ASH with sensor technology and IO-Link

The second innovation is the hydraulic long-stroke clamping device HILMA.ASH for jaw widths of 100 and 125 mm, now including sensors and IO-Link communication. It allows for a wide range of applications – especially for automated machining.
The integrated sensors of the vice with up to 110 mm clamping stroke detect the opening position, clamping force, and contact control, enabling continuous condition monitoring. An optional path measurement system allows for fully automated setup and eliminates operator errors.
Through the standardized IO-Link interface, process and condition data can be effortlessly integrated into existing control and monitoring systems – ideal for unmanned machining. The ASH is used, for example, when components of different formats need to be clamped regularly.
It scores with good accessibility, high rigidity, and a wide selection of jaws for all clamping tasks. Also available is a robot-compatible quick-change system that can be locked and allows for jaw changes without manual intervention. This enables a larger clamping range to be covered or the jaw to be rotated 180 degrees for switching from external to internal clamping.
Integrated air outlets facilitate process-safe automated operation by cleaning the workpiece support surface and the guideways and controlling the positioning of the component.

Additionally, Römheld GmbH Friedrichshütte presents its hydraulic units, which operate the exhibits. They are housed under the exhibition platforms and can be pulled out for a look at the technology.
