EuroSkills 2025 in Herning, Denmark ended with a record result for Team Germany: 22 medals - including silver in CNC milling for Carina Bühler from Röchling Industrial. She was prepared and supported for the competition by Herbert Mattes, national coach and training manager of the CHIRON Group. The success of the machining technician underscores the company's long-standing commitment to promoting technical talent.

From September 9 to 13, around 600 young professionals from 32 nations competed in 38 disciplines at EuroSkills 2025. Over 100,000 visitors followed the competitions as eagerly as the coaching teams. Herbert Mattes has been the national coach for the CNC milling discipline since 2007, preparing young talents with targeted training and technical expertise for national and international competitions. 'Concentration, endurance, and precision are crucial for success,' he explains. 'Carina Bühler has impressively demonstrated these strengths.'
Systematic promotion of young talent

The CHIRON Group has been committed to promoting skilled workers beyond its own training for many years. As a founding member of WorldSkills Germany e.V., the company provides infrastructure and know-how and has a strong coaching team with Herbert Mattes and Steffen Sigrist.
'Professional competitions like EuroSkills show the potential of dual education. That's why we continuously invest in training at the highest level,' emphasizes Cornelia Braun, Senior Vice President Global Human Resources.
At the German Championship in CNC milling, which took place again in 2025 at the headquarters in Tuttlingen, the CHIRON Group celebrated a double success: Nico Bosch became German champion, and Niklas Steinhauser was runner-up. Both are now preparing for WorldSkills 2026 in Shanghai or the 'home game' EuroSkills 2027 in Düsseldorf.
Strong network for skilled worker promotion
The participation of the German team in the European Championship takes place in cooperation with WorldSkills Germany and the Central Association of the German Craft (ZDH). Supported by two federal ministries and backed by presenter partner MEWA, the competition offers a Europe-wide platform for excellence in vocational education.
