From September 22 to 26, 2025, KUKA will use the stage of the world's leading trade fair for production technology, EMO in Hannover, to present groundbreaking automation solutions for machine tools. At booth F23 in Hall 6, visitors will experience how robots and software work hand in hand to ensure greater efficiency in manufacturing - live and hands-on.

The challenges in industrial production have increased due to uncertainties in global politics and the world economy. Flexibility and quick responsiveness are therefore in demand. KUKA will demonstrate at EMO how automation significantly simplifies work processes such as loading and unloading, intralogistics, and the mechanical processing of workpieces.

Technology you can touch: Mobility Area showcases integrated automation

Many work processes - from handling to feeding machine tools and intralogistics - can be fully automated. This is made possible by KUKA's wide product portfolio, which provides all necessary components from hardware to software.

A practical example from metal processing is showcased with the KR IONTEC, which automates the deburring of components - presented by partner company WMS Engineering. MAIROTEC presents the MAIROFlex CYBERTECH, which is not only used for quality checks but also excels in order picking through reliable bin picking. BEC GmbH demonstrates a mobile robot in action: here, the focus is on automatic tool changing.

The KMP 1500P ensures a smooth material flow - an autonomous mobile platform that transports workpieces to their destination.

For ton-heavy components: the heavy-duty robot KR TITAN ultra

KUKA also showcases the sheer power of robotics at EMO: The KR TITAN ultra was developed with a load capacity of up to 1.5 tons at a comparatively low self-weight for precise handling of ton-heavy components. Whether pallet handling for machine tools, handling of engine blocks, battery cases, or precast concrete parts - this robot moves what others cannot lift and will be on display at the fair.

Easy to use: Simple integration thanks to smart software solutions

The new, powerful KUKA operating system iiQKA.OS2 will also be represented at the booth. With comprehensive engineering and innovative features, iiQKA.OS2 as a Virtual Robot Controller (VRC) enables efficient virtual commissioning and optimized processes. Developed for maximum performance - compliant with standards and cyber-resilient. Additionally, the software interface iiQKA.mxAutomation has been expanded in cooperation with Siemens to include the industrial standard SRCI, providing even more flexibility in the integration of robotic products.

The topic of intuitive and seamless integration of KUKA robots into existing automation environments is demonstrated using the software solution KUKA.PLC mxAutomation. Through a standardized interface, robots can be programmed and controlled directly in the familiar control environment. The company HEIDENHAIN, a specialist in measurement and control technology from Traunreut, utilizes this opportunity: The CNC control from Heidenhain has been expanded with an interface that allows robots and machine tools to be operated together. This significantly simplifies the handling of both systems, according to HEIDENHAIN. Machine tools with Heidenhain control can be retrofitted until around 2010. For individual consulting, the expert team from KUKA and partners will be available at the booth.

Education and fun with robotics

The 'KUKA Coaster' will provide attention and entertainment at the special exhibition on education in Hall 7. The KUKA Coaster guarantees pure action entertainment for all age groups with the highest safety: The robot movements can be executed step by step according to the passenger's wishes - from child-friendly spins around their own axis to turbulent overhead action for adrenaline junkies.
