Based on the company's extensive technological expertise and utilizing current developments in the areas of digitization and artificial intelligence, new solutions for machines, software, automation, and services have been developed. These offerings are tailored to different requirements and support companies in positioning themselves sustainably in a dynamic market environment.

The sustainable success of precision tool manufacturers is fundamentally based on two aspects: the quality of the manufactured tools and the efficiency of production,” says Edmund Boland, who heads ANCA's global CNC machine division. “For over 50 years, ANCA has stood for innovative and precise solutions. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of EMO, we are presenting new developments that enable our customers to increase their efficiency, meet more complex requirements, and expand their product portfolio.

ULTRA technology for highest precision

A focus of ANCA's trade fair appearance is the ULTRA technology – a combination of high-precision axis control, intelligent servo algorithms, and an integrated precision package of innovative mechanical components, software, and AI. This technology, significantly enabled by ANCA's depth of manufacturing, aims to significantly improve accuracy, repeatability, and productivity in grinding.

Two product innovations based on this platform will be presented:

MicroX ULTRA – a grinding machine for micro-tools up to Ø0.03 mm, designed for series production. The machine is equipped with nanometer control, in-process laser measurement, and ANCA's exclusive spindle temperature compensation (MTC). A demo will showcase a Ø0.3 mm ball end mill and quick wheel change.

MX7 ULTRA – on the production machine, ANCA demonstrates the highly precise, automated grinding of indexable inserts with complex geometries. The machine combines 5-axis profile grinding with ANCA's MTC system and enables automated clamping including compensation of profile and chip surfaces. As a co-exhibitor, Mitsubishi will additionally showcase a solution for dressing metal-bonded grinding wheels. The presentation underscores the potential of integrated processes and digital interfaces for seamless production efficiency.

EPX-SF: New process for fine machining of tools

Self-learning: the EPX Streamfinish machine supports finding the perfect recipe for edge preparation through intelligent control and algorithms. Image: Anca

As another market premiere, the EPX-SF is presented – a machine for the so-called Stream Finishing, particularly for optimizing tools through edge preparation. After successful validation with test customers, the machine is now presented with some optimizations. These include optimized gripping technology, simplified drum change, coordinated coating technology, a reduction of loading/unloading times by 45% to 25 seconds, and intelligent fine-tuning based on process data.

CPX Linear: no blank too difficult

The blank processing machine CPX can now also grind non-round shapes and process raw materials with sintered skin. Image: Anca

The CPX Linear has been developed for high-productive grinding of blanks and achieves high material removal rates that contribute to productivity, precision, and process reliability. The machine achieves a surface quality of <0.2Ra and features automatic in-process measurement of the outer diameter as well as automatic loading for diameters of 3 to 20 mm – all within a large working area supported by a powerful roughing spindle.

For EMO, the CPX has been enhanced with functions for grinding surfaces on blanks and non-round shapes. In collaboration with the clamping technology experts from GDS, directly sintered blanks can now also be processed on the machine.

Software solutions for process optimization

ANCA showcases several advancements in software at EMO:

Savings of two minutes cycle time per workpiece impact the results... Image: Anca

InsertsPRO – a new software package specifically targets manufacturers of indexable inserts. Thanks to the simulation of profiles with ANCA software CIM3D, plates can be ground more efficiently and quickly. Automation and presetting simplify operation. With the ability for automatic calculation and compensation, users can achieve good parts faster.

ToolRoom RN35 – the latest version of ANCA's grinding software aims to increase productivity as well as improve tool quality and surface finishes. Software-based feed optimization and reduction of auxiliary times allow for cycle time savings of up to 20%. Improvements in groove grinding and VRML import in iGrind make grinding more flexible and efficient.

The ANCA simulation software CIM 3D features advanced functions for matching tool programs, which accelerates validation and import. The software module ToolDraft creates perfect tool drawings directly from the simulation based on tool blank specifications, using grinding wheel packages and much more.

Visitors in Hanover will be the first to see the updated features for faster and easier drawing creation.

Forward into the future: Flexible automation as an industry standard

The ANCA Integrated Manufacturing System (AIMS) allows manufacturers to maximize the precision and quality of their tools while minimizing costs per tool and scrap rates, as well as drastically reducing labor. Intelligent automation increases productivity, scalability, and repeatability and boosts machine utilization by 15-20%. AIMS Automate stands for autonomous production as well as integrated control and material flow, giving qualified professionals time for value-adding tasks.

AIMS Connect offers job management, digital work instructions, and operator guidance for an easy entry into digital production control and enables direct integration of existing machines. AIMS Connect is ANCA's solution for job management, digital work instructions, and operator guidance, enabling digital production control and easy integration of existing machines. AIMS Connect ensures productive manufacturing by eliminating the risk of errors from manual interventions and ensuring traceability of products. In live demos at EMO, the functions of job management and operator guidance with AIMS Connect will be showcased. In advance, visitors can calculate their individual ROI for AIMS Connect calculate.

A highlight at EMO will be the award ceremony for the 'Tool of the Year' as well as the 'Female Machinist of the Year'. The awards for high-precision and creative tools on one hand and the promotion of female professionals on the other hand use EMO as a platform to recognize the expertise and achievements that are delivered daily in the industry.
