Focus on Hobbing and Gear Shaping

Currently, the focus is on hobbing and gear shaping – two processes particularly suitable for internal and external gears with interfering contours. Among LMT Fette's strengths are special profiles and high-precision quality requirements that must be realized with both cylindrical and conical tools. Hobbing, in particular, is gaining increasing importance due to its advantages in terms of productivity, quality, and efficiency. For example, the necessary gear modifications for e-drives in the automotive industry cannot be produced with the conventional shaping process in sufficiently high quality. The gear specialist supports hobbing with powerful, process-safe tools and a specially developed simulation software – all from a single source.

New Hobbing and Cutting Wheels

The LMT portfolio includes cutting wheels for gear shaping made from PM material, hobbing wheels for hobbing made from PM, carbide, and in WSP versions, tools for hobbing with modules from 0.5 to 8, gear shaping tools with modules from 0.8 to 12, as well as indexable insert hobbing wheels with modules from 3 to 8. Aerospace, automotive – a focus here is on BEV gearbox gears – mechanical engineering, and robotics are important fields of application.
