When the Paris Air Show 2025 opens its doors for the 55th time from June 16 to 22, 2025, all major manufacturers and suppliers of the aerospace industry will meet with aircraft operators and airlines. Accordingly, the HELLER Group from Nürtingen, known for innovative manufacturing solutions, will also be present. The company will showcase its expertise in highly productive and flexible manufacturing of complex components at Hall 2b, Stand F 194 under the motto "Excellence4Aerospace".

It becomes clear that especially machines from the five-axis F and HF series demonstrate their strengths in the production of variously sized components for engines, doors, landing gear, and structural parts. Particularly in the processing of difficult-to-machine materials, the robust and reliable solutions from HELLER provide users with high process stability, rigidity, and service offerings, ensuring great security.

The compact machining centers can also be designed for the production of hydraulic components and mechanical small parts. Equipped with numerous modern features and a wide range of automation options, all machines are equally suitable for single-part production as well as for flexible 24/7 large-scale production.

Since the end of 2023, Heller has been launching its new F-series five-axis centers in various sizes as part of an innovation offensive. Their compact footprint contributes to the increasing demand, as do the generally high axis accelerations in X/Y/Z of up to 7 m/s² and the positioning tolerances in X/Y/Z lying in the range of up to 6 µm. Another advantage is the large working area relative to the external dimensions. Thus, the new Heller machining centers offer particularly high flexibility in application.

As complete machining plays an increasingly important role in many aerospace manufacturing companies, Heller follows this all-in-one concept and offers an optional mill-turn function for combined milling and turning tasks for the F-series up to size 10000. The core component for this is the torque-strong rotary table DDT (Direct Drive Turning), which reaches speeds of up to 700 min⁻¹. This allows for external and internal contours to be machined longitudinally or flat, as well as various free and blind holes to be realized in a single setup, in addition to milling and drilling operations. Even external and internal threads can be produced. This eliminates the need for re-clamping on separate lathes, increasing accuracy on the workpiece and reducing cycle times.

The high reliability of the F-series and various features for error prevention make the modern five-axis machining centers additionally interesting. The integrated "digital twin" in the Sinumerik One control allows for a virtual exact representation of the manufacturing process before the first chips fly. It goes without saying that the dynamic and simultaneously stable machines from Heller subsequently implement the NC program accurately.

For those who are still unsure about which workpieces and quantities will need to be produced later, Heller offers maximum flexibility with the "Automation-READY" option. This allows for the standardized automation systems available to be quickly and easily retrofitted. As standard, the F-series is always equipped with an automatic pallet changer (APC). Alternatively, extended automation with linear storage, circular storage (RSP), or robots can be ordered.

Additional machining centers from the 5-axis HF series and the 4-axis H series complement the program of flexible and highly productive machines for the processing of aerospace components. More detailed information will be available on-site at the Paris Air Show 2025. A visit to the Heller booth F 194 in Hall 2b is definitely worthwhile.
