With the expansion of HEULE's tool range, flat and form countersinking for drilling diameters up to 45 mm with large cutting widths is possible. Counterbores or flat countersinks, such as screw head countersinks, are applied cost-effectively and precisely – either on both sides or only on the back of the hole, without the need to turn the workpiece or complicated re-clamping.
HEULE expands the range of two of its proven countersink tools. The new Back Counterbore BSF and the SOLO countersink tool, which allows for double-sided hole processing, are available for drilling diameters of up to 45.0 mm. Since large workpieces do not need to be laboriously turned and realigned due to the technologies used, process times are significantly reduced, thereby greatly lowering manufacturing costs. Additionally, the safety of employees is also increased.
Flat countersinking backwards up to 2.3 x drill diameter

The BSF is designed for automated operation and is ready for immediate use. It requires no torque support or a ramp mechanism. The deployment of the cutter occurs through the rotational movement of the spindle (centrifugal force), while the retraction of the cutter is activated by the internal cooling. For drilling diameters up to 30.0 mm, activation via air or a manual activation ring is also possible.
The simple folding mechanism combined with the machine's internal coolant pressure (min. 20 bar, max. 50 bar) ensures that neither chips nor dirt stick. The straightforward yet highly stable design allows for quick replacement of the coated carbide cutters. These are available as standard from stock and can also be individually designed for the application according to customer requirements. The clean flat countersinks even in demanding materials and the high tool life of the carbide cutters are impressive in practice.
This proven tool principle is now also available for large drill diameters up to 45.0 mm. From a drill diameter of 21.0 mm, the tool is tailored to customer-specific requirements. With the new shank system, which comes into play from a drill diameter of 30.0 mm, there is the possibility to design the BSF as a two-cutter, which significantly reduces cycle time. The large drill-countersink ratio of up to 2.3 x drill diameter is also exceptional. The maximum cutting width, thanks to the product expansion, is 22.5 mm. The BSF enables the machining of flat or slightly uneven surfaces.
Double-sided flat and form countersinking in one operation
With the SOLO from HEULE, screw head countersinks, counterbores, or form countersinks can be applied double-sided in one operation. Alternatively, processing can also be carried out exclusively on the back side. The SOLO tool concept impresses with its extremely robust system, which also performs excellently in difficult-to-machine materials. Due to the massive cutter guidance, both steeply angled or interrupted cutting conditions can be managed.
HEULE is now expanding the existing SOLO tool range, thus enabling new application areas.
The expanded range allows for processing for large drill diameters up to 45.0 mm. With the new SOLO 25 tool system, countersinks up to 1.95 x drill diameter can be produced. The maximum cutting width is 20.25 mm. Tool and cutter are individually tailored to customer-specific requirements.
