Kyocera Unimerco presents solutions in Stuttgart that aim to help manufacturers tackle significant challenges in production, including increasing productivity demands, rising cost pressures, and the need for greater process transparency. Kyocera focuses on applications for the automotive industry, fluid technology, and mechanical engineering, combining its expertise in machining with intelligent tool management and advanced coating technologies.
Support for the transformation of automotive manufacturing
A key focus is the transformation of automotive production. As automotive manufacturers increasingly use large structural castings and expand mass production, the demands for productivity, precision, and cost control are continuously rising. These developments place growing demands on machining performance, tool life, and process stability throughout the entire production process. Kyocera Unimerco presents its tool concepts designed to support these changing production requirements and enhance performance in demanding machining environments.
New drill and reamer for more efficient drilling
For the manufacturing industry, Kyocera introduces the new drill and reamer. This is a new combination tool that unites drilling and reaming in a single operation. The solution has been developed to produce holes with tolerance H7 in selected steel and cast iron grades under defined machining conditions.
Developed as an alternative to specialized drilling and reaming tools, the drill and reamer helps manufacturers reduce tool complexity, shorten cycle times, and improve process reliability.
Further tool innovations exhibited at AMB 2026:
1. KGX turning tool series

The KGX turning and parting tool has been developed to improve machining accuracy, tool life, and productivity, featuring an innovative clamping design that reduces movement and wear of the cutting inserts. A uniform insert platform for external, internal, and face turning applications simplifies tool management, while improved chip removal ensures stable machining performance.
2. ME90 spiral cutter
The ME90 has been specifically designed for titanium alloys and other difficult-to-machine materials, combining a stable tool body, advanced insert geometry, and the grade PM335S. Thanks to double-sided inserts with eight cutting edges, high productivity and economical tool life are ensured.
3. MG90B groove cutter
The MG90B has been developed for highly efficient groove milling, combining stable clamping of the inserts, reduced cutting forces, and six cutting edges. Large chip chambers and an offset arrangement of the inserts ensure reliable chip transport and efficient material removal.
4. Alternative tool concepts

To enable manufacturers to reduce their dependence on specialized solid carbide solutions, Kyocera Unimerco also presents the high-feed cutter 'MFH Micro' and the drill crown drill series 'DRA MagicDrill', as well as high-performance cermet grades for finishing. These solutions have the potential to lower tool costs while enabling high machining performance.
More than just machining
In addition to its machining solutions, Kyocera Unimerco presents its intelligent tool management solution CC945, which provides greater transparency in tool operations and enables efficient inventory management, availability of tools, and optimization of workflows. By providing better oversight of the entire tool lifecycle, the system helps manufacturers improve control over their production resources and reduce operational inefficiencies.
Comprehensive expertise in advanced coating technologies

Furthermore, Kyocera has expanded its capabilities by integrating Weber Technologies into the Kyocera Unimerco Group in 2025. Weber Technologies specializes in CVD diamond coatings for aluminum, CFRP, graphite, and ceramics, enhancing tool performance, wear resistance, and process reliability in demanding machining applications.
At the Kyocera booth, experts from Weber Technologies are happy to answer questions about application-specific coating solutions and manufacturing requirements.
