DN Solutions, the third largest manufacturer of machine tools worldwide and market leader in Korea, has completed the acquisition of HELLER, a renowned German manufacturer of high-end machine tools. The transaction has been approved by the relevant regulatory authorities in various countries, including Germany, the USA, and the UK.
Enhanced capabilities and clear commitment
The acquisition combines the global reach of DN Solutions, the operational flexibility, and the advanced digital platforms of the company with HELLER's extensive technical expertise in precision engineering. This significantly expands the solution offerings for customers and drives innovations in demanding industries worldwide. The strategic integration results in an expanded service network with tailored solutions in key manufacturing regions such as Europe and North America. This ensures a global reach and optimized customer support.
Won-jong Kim, CEO of DN Solutions, states: 'This acquisition is a groundbreaking step for both companies. Our goal is to create a strong alliance that neither company could achieve alone, enabling us to meet the changing demands of the industry and ensure long-term stability and growth. By bundling our strengths, we will further expand our leading position in the global manufacturing landscape and provide our customers with even greater value.'
Thorsten Schmidt, CEO of HELLER, added: 'This partnership is a win-win situation for both companies. Together, we will serve customers worldwide with a diverse portfolio, comprehensive expertise, and high innovation power. The collaboration positions us as premium partners for demanding industries and enables a holistic solution offering in machine tool manufacturing that supports customers in all respects.'
Drivers of industrial change
The manufacturing sector is currently experiencing a renaissance due to the reshoring of production capacities, the strengthening of resilient supply chains, and significant investments in key industries such as semiconductors, aerospace, and other dual-use industries. The acquisition of HELLER by DN Solutions marks a decisive moment in this profound transformation and aims to unlock and further drive the growth of the industry.
Both companies share a strong commitment to precision, innovation, and long-term partnerships. The integration plan aims to preserve HELLER's brand identity while leveraging synergies in research and development, manufacturing, and market strategies. HELLER will continue to be a significant local employer and partner. The global resources of DN Solutions will help drive growth and ensure a high level of customer support.
As a result of the acquisition, DN Solutions' consolidated revenue is expected to increase to around 2 billion euros. Together, both companies produce over 13,400 machines annually, strengthening economies of scale and their purchasing power. Strategic investments at the Nürtingen site and other international locations will expand the service offering and further improve customer support.
Outlook for the next 12 to 24 months
DN Solutions plans a gradual integration following the merger to develop a common corporate culture and ensure close coordination. A key goal is to strengthen HELLER's revenue growth. To this end, the strong customer bases of both companies will be targeted. A roadmap for joint development and innovation along the entire value chain will be defined. Significant synergies in research and development, marketing, service, and production are also expected, which will further solidify the market position.
The first joint public appearance of DN Solutions and HELLER will take place in April 2026 at SIMTOS in Seoul. It will mark the beginning of the presentation of the combined strengths of both companies in the market.
