MAPAL expands the NeoMill family in the areas of semi-finishing and finishing for steel and cast materials as well as in rough machining of aluminum components.
Just in time for EMO 2025 in Hanover, MAPAL expanded the NeoMill milling program with three new series specifically tailored to the requirements of series production: NeoMill-16-Finish, NeoMill-16-Face, and NeoMill-Alu-Rough. All three milling series stand for high economic efficiency and process reliability as well as sustainable manufacturing – thus seamlessly integrating into the existing portfolio.
NeoMill-16-Finish:Face mill for finishing operations at a new level
The NeoMill-16-Finish was developed for high demands on surface quality and dimensional accuracy in finishing operations. With the combination of a 16-edge roughing cutter (ONMU05) and an eight-edge indexable insert for finishing (OFGW07), MAPAL now offers a unique and absolutely process reliable system. The face mills are available in standard dimensions with diameters ranging from 63 to 200 mm and allow for easy adjustment of the finishing edges. Surface qualities of up to Rz 4 µm can be achieved.
NeoMill-16-Face:Efficiency in pre-machining during face milling
For pre-machining, the NeoMill-16-Face complements the portfolio. Here, too, economic efficiency is the focus: The ONMU05 insert with 16 cutting edges ensures low costs per component and stable machining. The tools are available in diameters from 32 to 125 mm and are particularly suitable for the series production of cast and steel components with small tolerances (up to 2 mm).
NeoMill-Alu-Rough: Flexibility for aluminum machining
With the corner mill and face mill NeoMill-Alu-Rough, MAPAL offers an innovative solution for roughing aluminum cast components in the automotive, aerospace, and mechanical engineering sectors. In the standard range, single-row mills with diameters from 50 to 160 mm are available, while multi-row versions of the NeoMill-Alu-Rough are available as face mills with diameters of 63, 80, and 100 mm. Additionally, custom tool solutions can be configured.
The combination of large chip spaces, tangential indexable inserts, and a wide selection of cutting materials (PKD, coated or uncoated carbide, CVD diamond) ensures safe chip removal and high stability – even at large material removal rates.
With the NeoMill family, MAPAL has successfully served the milling tool market for many years, specifically for series production. Through the newly developed series NeoMill-16-Finish, NeoMill-16-Face, and NeoMill-Alu-Rough, the tool specialist underscores its expertise in the areas of semi-finishing and finishing of steel and cast materials as well as in rough machining of aluminum, providing the appropriate solutions.
