The EMO, the world's leading trade fair for production technology, will continue to be held in Hanover. This was decided by the VDW board at its autumn meeting yesterday.
We are very pleased to have found a viable solution for the future after a two-year bidding process and very intense discussions with the two trade fair companies that were considered as partners for the EMO, says EMO General Commissioner Carl-Martin Welcker. Given the significant challenges facing the industry, we want to signal continuity at the most important international platform for metalworking. At the same time, we are convinced that we can lead the EMO concept into a new era in the long-standing successful partnership with Deutsche Messe and thus offer good prospects for exhibitors and visitors, Welcker continues.
In consultation with the European association Cecimo, owner of the EMO brand, and with the Italian sister association Ucimu, organizer of the EMO in Milan, the VDW has agreed to postpone the EMO cycle until 2031. Accordingly, the fair will take place in Milan in 2027, in Hanover in 2029, and again in Milan in 2031. After that, we will return to the established cycle of Hanover, Hanover, Milan, Welcker concludes.
