Yamazaki Mazak introduces a new control technology that provides customers with various tools beyond the actual machine. These help customers maximize their productivity and support them in different stages of the manufacturing process, including quotation preparation, intuitive automation planning, and setup.

MAZATROL DX further expands the functionality of the popular PC-based Mazak SmoothCAM Ai software and is Mazak's latest innovation. With state-of-the-art technology, the manufacturer makes its extensive range of machine tools fit for today's rapidly digitizing world.

Essentially, MAZATROL DX is designed to further optimize production for customers through high-quality new features. The functionality of the proven MAZATROL technology is expanded to enable fast and automated quotation preparation, automated parts programming, virtual machine simulation, and machine process analysis and optimization.

The software includes the same functions as a CNC control and gives Mazak customers the ability to securely create MAZATROL programs either on their office computer or from home. Essentially, the system creates a completely new manufacturing method that allows for quick quotations, parts programs, and simulations to be created intuitively. Manufacturing costs, times, and tool requirements are automatically calculated based on a 3D model.

Unfortunately, the market today is characterized by a lack of skilled CNC operators. With a new targeted function, MAZATROL DX effectively addresses this problem: New operators are provided with an intuitive programming aid that guides them through the machine setup. The processes are designed so that the setup instructions are integrated into the process, allowing tool equipment, clamping devices, and automation to be set up with significantly less time at the machine.

By using AI functions, MAZATROL DX can be integrated into a SMOOTH Tool Management System, allowing users to create parts programs using the tools available in the existing tool database. Furthermore, MAZATROL DX can process solid models to interactively program parts, optimize machining cycles, and define intuitive machine setup processes.

MAZATROL DX is offered in a free trial version available to all Mazak customers registered in the free Mazak web portal iCONNECT.

Thanks to its clever design, MAZATROL DX can also be easily combined with Mazak's latest automation solution, the Ez Loader 30. The Ez Loader 30 is an integrated collaborative robot solution that allows Mazak machine tools to be quickly automated.

The Ez Loader 30 can realize planned operational processes without operator supervision even for small batch sizes, without requiring special robot programming knowledge. Through the Ez Loader application, which runs on the NC control, operators can plan production and modify parts, clamping device data, and robot paths. The setup logic is also transferred to the control for easier interaction with the operator. Setting up robot paths, production plans, tool equipment, and clamping devices is thus possible without extensive expertise.

The Ez Loader 30 is designed for workpieces weighing up to 18 kg and with diameters of 50 to 200 mm. It is compatible with the QUICKTURN series of turning centers and the INTEGREX-i and INTEGREX-j series of multi-functional machining centers. Thus, the Ez Loader 30 can operate with up to three pallets and enables unmanned operation over long periods, while also providing high flexibility regarding components and batch sizes.
