KASTO lays the foundation for a smooth material flow in the sheet metal area right at the goods receipt. KASTOflow unpack solves the problem of manual sheet unpacking: The drum-shaped rotating device turns packages weighing up to five tons by 180 degrees, allowing for easy removal of strapping bands, films, and wooden pallets. Vertical and horizontal sliders then precisely align the sheets – a decisive advantage for subsequent automated storage.
Increase throughput
Directly at the sawing machines, KASTOload optimizes the material supply. For example, a laterally movable double roller conveyor minimizes downtime: While one side serves the active sawing process, the other side performs preparatory tasks in parallel. On the discharge side, a system automates material handling after cutting. A circulating sorting device picks up Euro pallets and material containers, while a lifting system precisely positions the pallets for transfer.
KASTOsort robotic systems offer automation in perfection. They palletize and pick independently – without teach-in or programming by the user. The robot automatically calculates the optimal stacking pattern with the highest packing density. Particularly impressive: The KASTOsort tower automates the entire sawing and storage process in a compact space, operating 24/7.
This complete solution was awarded 'Product of the Year' in 2024 and can be seen at the trade fair. The space-saving tower storage automates sawing, sorting, and storage in a compact system. It offers high density, and users can access the stored goods flexibly, around the clock, and without personnel via a through station.
Smart sawing
At the trade fair, KASTO also demonstrates how intelligent sawing is done today: with powerful machines such as the KASTOwin, the KASTOmicut, and the powerhouse KASTOtec for large cutting areas. There are also clever software solutions that automatically optimize straight and miter cuts in the WMS KASTOlogic or adjust the feed speed sensorlessly to the material and cross-section. The saws can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems via open interfaces such as OPC UA or MQTT.
At the turn of the year, the first models with the new, even more user-friendly and performance-enhanced generation of KASTO controls ProControl and ExpertControl will launch. New features include a 'Simple Mode' and many practical functions – for the first time, the solution will be showcased at EMO. Intelligent sawing means: stronger performance, less effort, and machines that think along.
