At the automatica in Munich, visitors experienced how handling processes can be designed safely and economically. IEF-Werner presented components and systems that have proven successful with users – including a portal system with a toothed belt axis. Numerous interested parties visited the stand of the automation specialist.
"The automatica in Munich was a complete success for us – we not only had significantly more visitors at our stand than expected, but also many high-quality conversations with decision-makers," says Ulrich Moser, Head of Marketing & Sales Controlling at IEF Werner. IEF-Werner showcased its portal system with the toothed belt axis Module 115/25. This allows for the safe handling of trays or small load carriers weighing up to 40 kilograms. Even under high loads and large strokes, no additional support structures are required. "Companies not only reduce their costs with this system – compared to alternative solutions, they also benefit from a significantly faster setup of the system," explains Moser.

The flexibly designed servo press series aiPRESS, which has been used by numerous companies for years, also attracted great interest. It is available in four sizes and can be integrated into both automated production lines and manual workstations. This allows skilled personnel at the machine to assemble or press workpieces with a precision of a few micrometers. Continuous quality control is already integrated into the aiPRESS through force-path monitoring. Thus, assemblies can not only be classified into good and bad parts but even into different quality levels. The series features several standardized software and I/O interfaces for connection to the customer's system landscape. The press can be further adapted with various special functions.
IEF-Werner demonstrated how small components, such as those in the watch industry, medical and pharmaceutical sectors, microsystems, or precision engineering, can be automated, moved quickly, and precisely with the miniSPIN series.
Companies thus receive a compact and highly dynamic handling solution for components weighing up to 100 grams and a total cycle time of about half a second. Depending on the application, the series can be used as a standalone solution or combined with linear units.
Additionally, IEF-Werner showcased its extensive range of components for handling technology that can be adapted to individual applications.
These include, among others, the manual adjustment unit domiLINE as well as rotary tables, spindle and cantilever axes, direct and toothed belt drives of various sizes.
Digitally via video, the audience could also see the palletizing robot roboSTACK Flex. The palletizing system is based on the modular and compact palletizer varioSTACK.
Instead of standard linear handling as in the varioSTACK, the roboSTACK was specifically developed for the integration of a robot, and the frame of the palletizer was accordingly reinforced. In the Flex version, IEF-Werner equips the system with variable feed conveyors and electrically controllable lifting forks – completely eliminating the need for compressed air. This allows the system to flexibly and 100 percent electrically process different tray sizes.
