Schröder presents bending machine at Roofing Expo

8136

Represented by their partner MetalForming Inc., the Schröder Group, a leading manufacturer of sheet metal processing machines, will be present at the International Roofing Expo in San Antonio, Texas, from February 19 to 21, 2025. At booth 11069, the motorized bending machine PowerBend Multi will be showcased, capable of bending 2 mm thick sheets up to 3200 mm in length with the highest repeat accuracy. Its graphical control POS 2000 Professional makes it easy to operate, and two innovative features set it apart: conical bending and the pressing function to create hollow folds in just one operation.

The PowerBend Multi bending machine is equipped with a swiveling upper beam. This not only allows for the quick setup of a second tool station but can also be retracted, enabling it to clamp the sheet further back. This creates space for the bending beam and a hollow fold. The bending beam first creates a sharp angle, the upper beam is retracted and clamps the sheet. The bending beam then raises up to 190° to create and press the fold. Instead of the traditional pressing with the upper beam, the much stronger and more robust bending beam is now used for this task. This allows for the entire length of 2 mm thick steel sheet to be provided with a uniform hollow fold.

Conical bending

Another Schröder innovation available on the PowerBend Multi is the electronically controlled two-axis back gauge. When profiles longer than the width of the machine are needed, the desired total length only needs to be entered in the POS 2000 Professional control. It automatically calculates segments with precision in the tenth-millimeter range that have conically tapering edges. The result is form-fitting plug-in profiles.
