At AMB 2026, EMUGE-FRANKEN announced the winners of the Mind Meets Metal competition. A predefined cube with a side length of 10cm had to be machined within a limited time using a defined set of tools.
The Dortmund University of Applied Sciences produced a model of a coal cart and achieved 2nd place in the competition. The Department of Manufacturing Technology and CAD/CAM Systems, led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Hesterberg, focuses on bilateral industrial research with an emphasis on metallic materials and plastics.
