Accusharp Cutting Tools is one of the leading manufacturers of cutting tools in India. With the investment in a second complete HiPIMS coating line from CemeCon, the company is now decisively continuing its path as an important driver of the local machine tool industry.

With the first CC800 HiPIMS installed in 2021, Accusharp was already able to significantly increase the performance of its tools and the reproducibility of the machining results achieved with them. Expanding the collaboration was a logical consequence: The consistently positive experiences with the innovative technology, combined with close, trusting support from CemeCon, have convinced the company from the Indian subcontinent to sustainably expand its HiPIMS capacities with a second complete coating line by mid-2026.

Accusharp designs, develops, and manufactures custom special shank tools made of solid carbide for industries such as automotive, mold and die making, aerospace, military and medical technology, and general mechanical engineering. 'We want to offer our ambitious customers individual coating solutions as well as consistently outstanding quality that ensures maximum process reliability,' states Ilyas Shaikh, Managing Director at Accusharp, expressing the company's commitment. 'And thanks to in-house coating with HiPIMS, we can achieve this at any time. Because we have the entire process chain of tool manufacturing completely in our own hands.'

The now strengthened manufacturing capacities with the second facility further solidify Accusharp's competitive position. With decisive effects on the preferred target markets: The company aims to become the first choice for tools with excellent cutting performance and high efficiency for even more regional companies and multinational corporations in the future.

HiPIMS coatings significantly enhance performance

'We are completely convinced of the performance of HiPIMS coating materials such as MultiCon, InoxaCon, and FerroCon,' shares Ilyas Shaikh, who has developed Accusharp into a world-class company since its founding, about his experiences. 'With close support from CemeCon, we have been able to develop tools with, depending on the application, 50 to 80 percent longer tool life in recent years. In addition, HiPIMS has opened up the possibility for us to meet the highest customer requirements for machining precision and surface qualities and to additionally explore new fields of application for our tools.'

Especially with difficult-to-machine and hard materials, the PVD coating process makes a significant difference due to higher precision and improved performance. 'Many investment considerations need to be weighed for a long time. However, when it came to the decision to expand our capacities with another complete HiPIMS coating line from CemeCon, we didn't need to think long. HiPIMS has helped us sustainably increase our company's revenue and profitability. It is simply indispensable!'

Excellent support creates business security

In addition to the technological advantages that HiPIMS has compared to conventional coatings, the comprehensive support from CemeCon was also decisive for Accusharp's continued collaboration. During the installation of the first turnkey coating line in 2021, CemeCon experts provided intensive support and training to Accusharp. 'CemeCon India has been present in India and Southeast Asia for about 20 years. Our customers have always appreciated both the high quality of our premium coatings and the service we provide. And we always have the German headquarters backing us,' explains Manish Adwani, Managing Director of CemeCon India. From a 24/7 hotline service to a dedicated, extensive spare parts inventory, everything is in place for quick support.

'With Manish and his team, we have highly competent contacts by our side who specifically support us with all questions regarding coating technology. That gives us a sense of security,' adds Ilyas Shaikh. This is also confirmed by Accusharp production managers Sandip Patil and Vikash Yadav, who are additionally impressed by the ease of operation of the systems and the very practical training provided by the coating experts.

Also mastering future challenges

By expanding HiPIMS capacities, Accusharp strengthens its position as a leading Indian tool manufacturer with the ambition to offer its customers solutions at the highest level and lays the foundation for further growth. The flexibility of the technology ensures that future challenges can also be met without concern, especially when market demands change. At the same time, it opens up opportunities in new markets: 'A good example is currently our tools for micro-machining,' says Ilyas Shaikh. 'They are becoming increasingly important for more and more clients. It's good that we are well positioned for this with HiPIMS!'
