The system includes coordinated clamping holders and precision-ground cutting plates for the various machine series. The carrier tools have an interface tailored to the respective machine type and can be integrated into the turning tool heads of the machines. The cutting plates are available either with finely ground chip guiding steps or in µ-finish execution. For high process reliability, Horn relies on the well-known ES1-HiPIMS coating. Due to their thin layer thickness, the cutting edges remain sharp and are suitable for machining small precision parts.

Escomatic lathes operate on a different principle than conventional long or short lathes. While the raw material remains stationary, the entire tool package rotates around the workpiece. This process is particularly suitable for the economical production of small components in high quantities. Typical applications can be found in connector manufacturing, the automotive industry, electronics, medical technology, and the watch industry. The Horn program covers the common D- and NM machine series. In addition to standard cutting plates, coated blanks are also part of the range. Users can individually grind these for trials or small series and adapt them to their machining tasks. Special cutting plates in various shapes can also be manufactured and delivered quickly according to customer specifications thanks to the Greenline process.
