LiCON mt has received the largest order in its company's history. One of the world's leading Tier-1 suppliers in the automotive industry will rely on technology from Upper Swabia for the production of complex vehicle components and will invest in several LiCON machining centers for its production sites in the United States over the coming years. This collaboration is based on a long-standing partnership between the two companies.
In the initial phase, the project includes several LiFLEX double-spindle machining centers, the delivery of which is expected to begin later this year. Equipped with pallet changers, the modular machines enable parallel loading and unloading, thereby maximizing productivity. LiCON's innovative i³ technology ensures exceptional precision through fully independent X, Y, and Z axes. Each machine is individually configured to meet the specific requirements of the respective production site.
The decisive factor for the investment decision was LiCON's ability to meet the high demands for precision, productivity, and flexibility in series production. Equally important were the close technical collaboration between the two companies and the high quality and reliability of LiCON's service and support. The agreement spans several years and allows for the ordering of additional machines for various plants in the United States.
'This project clearly demonstrates the added value our group offers to our customers,' said David Modig, Chairman of Modig Machine Tool. 'Thanks to the close collaboration between our teams at Modig USA, LiCON LP, and the technical specialists in Laupheim, we were able to offer a comprehensive solution that is both technically and economically convincing. The completion of this order represents a significant success for all parties involved.'
LiCON also considers the signing of the contract an important milestone. 'We are very pleased with the trust that the Tier-1 automotive supplier has placed in our technology and our team,' said Christoph Czoske, Managing Director of LiCON mt. 'Intensive technical and strategic discussions preceded the signing of the contract. We are proud to establish this long-term partnership, which strengthens our capacity utilization and creates new opportunities for the further international growth of our company.'
With this major order, the group underscores its international orientation and strengthens its position as a technology partner for highly productive machining solutions in the global automotive industry.
