From April 21 to 23, the headquarters in Tuttlingen once again served as a meeting point for professionals from various industries. Once again, the CHIRON Group demonstrated what makes the OPEN HOUSE a special event in the trade fair calendar: experiencing technologies together with 36 partner companies, promoting direct exchange, and opening up concrete perspectives for practice. All topic areas – Automation, Medical & Precision, Service Excellence, and Exclusive Outlet – were color-coded. This allowed guests to specifically inform themselves in the areas relevant to them.

Where Automation meets Machining Excellence
The focus of the OPEN HOUSE was on the interplay between machining excellence and intelligent automation. Highly productive combinations demonstrated in live operation on current industry-specific workpieces how increased productivity, flexibility, and autonomy can be realized in manufacturing.
An example of how this interplay looks in practice was shown by the new Variocell SYSTEM with Gantry Bot in the Automation Area. On an FZ 19 S mill turn, the portal automation demonstrated its strengths in handling a cast rotary table housing for machine construction: loading from above, freely accessible working area, and greater reach than a classic industrial robot. The solution fully unfolds its potential in scaled applications – for example, when loading and unloading multiple, even different manufacturing centers.

Three new variants for automated micro-machining with the Micro5 XL were also presented: Variocell PICK&PLACE, Variocell PALLET, and Variocell UNO. They cover different tasks in automation – from linear loading and unloading of raw and finished parts to handling pallets and robot handling for workpieces and additional process steps.
How demanding components can be efficiently manufactured on a machine – instead of spread over several – was demonstrated by the MT 715 two+ in live operation. The multitask machine with an integrated storage for up to 176 tools manufactured a ring with only 1.5 mm wall thickness and an eccentric clamping device from a 50 kg heavy cylinder.
The superalloy used is extremely resistant and tough and requires a precisely coordinated machining strategy of milling and turning – for short, process-safe chips. A challenge that the MT 715 two+ masters confidently and efficiently with its outstanding performance and robustness.
All partners at one address – all in the process
A central component of the event towards holistic manufacturing concepts was the partner exhibition: The 36 companies presented their specific expertise often in the real manufacturing process or in the environment of machining centers and automation solutions.
The spectrum ranged from tools and clamping and measuring technology to automation and digital applications and CAM strategies.
In the further topic areas of the OPEN HOUSE 2026, the experts of the CHIRON Group informed about how processes can be further optimized, machines can be operated long-term, and existing systems can be economically modernized.
The clear conclusion after three intensive days: The OPEN HOUSE 2026 was a complete success. We not only showcased technologies but also discussed concrete solutions with our guests and developed perspectives for their manufacturing,” says Matthias Rapp, Vice President Global Marketing of the CHIRON Group. “The direct exchange in the environment of running machines makes the difference – here approaches are created that can be directly transferred into practice.”
Save the Date: OPEN HOUSE 2027
The CHIRON Group will continue the successful format next year – as a compact platform for exchange, innovations, and impulses for optimized manufacturing. The exact date will follow.
