In aerospace, energy generation, and the automotive industry, ISO-K and -S materials are often used due to their properties. Specifically for their economical machining, ISCAR has developed the new CERMILL ceramic high-feed milling cutters. Thanks to the stable claw clamping of the ceramic indexable inserts (WSP), they enable cutting speeds of up to 1,200 meters per minute and feeds of up to 0.35 millimeters per tooth for face, shoulder, profile, groove, ramp, and drilling circular milling.

The thick, double-sided WSP are made of IS35 SIALON. Their high edge stability, large radius at the cutting edge, and robust construction ensure high process reliability. The WSP can be changed quickly, easily, and without loose spare parts. The CERMILL WSP are available in two variants: The EFN WDNX plates have four stable cutting edges with a radius of seven millimeters and allow cutting depths of up to 1.5 millimeters. A recess in the WSP ensures stable clamping in the insert seat. For this plate type, shank cutters are available in diameters of 25, 32, and 40 millimeters with three, four, and five teeth, as well as a face mill in 50 millimeters diameter with five teeth. The 32 and 40 millimeters cutters feature internal coolant supply directly to the cutting edges.
For cutting depths of up to 2.5 millimeters, the FF WNGF WSP are suitable. They offer six cutting edges with a radius of 13 millimeters and can be mounted on internally cooled face mills in diameters of 50, 63, and 80 millimeters with five, six, and eight teeth. A coating protects all CERMILL basic bodies from wear and corrosion.
