An era is coming to an end at ISCAR Germany: Hans-Jürgen Büchner is retiring after a quarter of a century at the helm of the company. He is passing the baton as CEO to Erich Timons. On January 1, 2026, the former CTO of ISCAR Germany took over the overall management of the tool specialist based in Ettlingen.
Erich Timons is no stranger at ISCAR Germany: Over 20 years, the 54-year-old mechanical engineer has held various leadership roles within the company. Since 2015, he has been responsible as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) for the technical direction of the German site, which provides important impulses for new and further developments for all ISCAR companies. His previous position will be taken over by Gerhard Bonfert, who was most recently Head of Production and Design at ISCAR Germany.
In his new role, Erich Timons will maintain ISCAR's successful course: 'We will continue to be as close to the customer as possible,' he says. 'Nothing will change in that regard.' Cornerstones of his strategy include service around innovative products, a partnership-based approach, good communication, and sustainability throughout the entire supply chain. Further investments in employees and the site are also planned. 'I am proud to be part of the ISCAR family and to embody our values – now from a different position,' says the CEO.
Erich Timons succeeds Hans-Jürgen Büchner as Managing Director, who is retiring after a well-deserved career. Büchner has shaped ISCAR Germany over the past 25 years and has successfully navigated the company through economically challenging times.
