Since its market introduction in 2019, the CV5-500 has been one of the best-selling machines from Mazak's British manufacturing facility. Specifically designed for the requirements of the European supply market, it offers an attractive entry point for both first-time customers and users of 3-axis machines looking to transition to simultaneous 5-axis machining.
The new generation of CV5 machines – consisting of a revised version of the CV5-500 and the new CV5-700 – builds on the success of the CV5-500 while providing increased productivity.

At customer request for a CV5 model for larger components, the CV5-700 enables the machining of larger workpieces with a diameter of up to 700 mm, a height of 450 mm, and a weight of up to 400 kg.
In addition to a new design created by renowned industrial designer Ken Okuyama, both models benefit from an optimized machine structure that further enhances static and dynamic stiffness. This leads to improved performance, precision, and thermal stability.
A significant upgrade of the series is the new MAZATROL SmoothAi control. It not only offers faster machining times but is also equipped with the 'Ai Thermal Shield' function, which ensures improved thermal stability during unmanned operation and reduces rework.
As standard, the machines are equipped with a 12,000 RPM spindle. Customers can now choose from an expanded selection of spindle options: Powerful variants with 15,000 RPM, 22 kW, and 18,000 RPM with 30 kW are now available, providing more flexibility for machining different materials. Enhanced coolant systems with greater capacity and reduced space requirements additionally support the machining of varying materials and chip volumes.
The easy integration of automation systems – a hallmark of the original CV5 series – is retained. Furthermore, the tool capacity of the new generation has been significantly increased: In addition to the standard configuration with 30 tools and the previous option with 48 tools, variants with 60 and 90 tools are now also available. These enable efficient automation in diverse small batch production and reduce the effort for tool and machine setup times.
Finally, the new CV5 models are available with a new range of measurement packages, including the non-contact laser tool measurement system NC4+ Blue from Renishaw for highly precise, fast tool measurement and tool break detection.
