The new VC-Ez IP series offers the potential for rapid cost recovery on high-volume applications, thanks to a combination of industry-leading spindle technology, high machining speeds, and intuitive machine control.

The series benefits from a compact footprint, high-speed linear roller guides, and a highly rigid construction. According to Mazak's global quality standards, the series is available in three sizes with a Y-axis travel of 410 mm, 510 mm, and 660 mm. Each variant offers the largest table area and the largest working space in its class.

As part of the exceptional features for a space-saving vertical machining center with 40-taper spindle, the VC-Ez IP series includes a powerful spindle with 18.5 kW, 95 Nm torque, and 12,000 RPM. The machines come standard with a 30-tool magazine; additional productivity is achieved through the high-speed tool changer, which allows a chip-to-chip time of just 3.8 seconds.

In addition, all machines are equipped with a 15-bar spindle cooling system and a housing cooling system. Integrated functions such as tool measurement, tool break detection, synchronized threading, and tap retraction enhance process reliability and reduce tool costs.

Improved thermal stability ensures consistently high machining accuracy: By circulating temperature-controlled cooling oil, both the spindle and the ball screw drives are maintained at a constant temperature. The integrated Thermal Shield function helps to compensate for temperature fluctuations.

The VC-Ez IP series is operated with the Mazak SmoothEz CNC control, which simplifies operation, maintenance, and programming while reducing setup times. Users can program either in dialog mode or with G-code.
In addition to its suitability for a wide range of applications in series production - such as in the general supply sector, aerospace, and medical technology - the high flexibility of the VC-Ez IP series also makes it particularly attractive for start-ups and research institutions.
