KYOCERA UNIMERCO Tooling A/S, headquartered in Sunds, Denmark, and part of the global Kyocera Corporation (Kyoto, Japan), announces the integration of the business operations and core areas of Weber Technologies GmbH (Potsdam, Germany). The acquisition will take effect on September 1, 2025.
The business will be integrated into KYOCERA UNIMERCO Tooling GmbH based in Neuss. Weber Technologies is a recognized specialist in CVD diamond coatings. The acquisition represents a strategic technology investment that strengthens Kyocera's ability to expand CVD diamond coatings globally across various industries and business sectors.

"The integration of the technology into the Kyocera group not only strengthens our innovative power in Europe but also opens up exciting opportunities within the global Kyocera organization. The CVD diamond coating technology has significant potential for performance and efficiency enhancement across various industries – from cutting tools to electronics to medical technology," says Simon Sondrup, Group Director, KYOCERA Unimerco Tooling A/S.
A key element is continuity: Dr. Frank-Reinhard Weber, founder and former owner of Weber Technologies, will continue to ensure stability and expertise in diamond coating at Kyocera. The existing team will also be retained and further strengthened to support future growth. Dr. Frank-Reinhard Weber states: "It was very important for me to remain part of the team and continue the shared journey. Together with Kyocera's global resources, we can now bring the technology of CVD diamond coating into significantly broader application areas than ever before."
This acquisition underscores Kyocera's long-term strategy of continuous technology investments that create added value across industries, strengthen competitiveness, and provide future-oriented solutions.
