With the revision of the ConeFit milling cutters, Walter presents the latest version of the exchangeable head system: 17 milling cutter families have been consolidated into eight and provided with new order codes adapted to the current nomenclature. For customers, this means significantly simplified order handling. At the same time, users benefit from a technical upgrade through the newly added coating with the highly wear-resistant Walter grade WJ30TP. The universal TiAlN layer with a gold-colored ZrN top coat not only allows for high tool life but also enables quick wear detection. Like all ConeFit exchangeable heads, the revised milling cutters are characterized by their highly precise, self-centering interface consisting of thread, cone, and contact surface. This allows for tool changes with the highest precision.

Technically noteworthy is the ConeFit milling cutter MD340 – a specialist for ISO P materials. Its variable 39°/41° helix reduces vibrations, significantly increasing smooth operation and tool life. The z4 milling cutter is available in the diameter range of 10–20 mm, with and without corner radius. In addition to the current highlights, MD340, MC430, and MC500 (both also with WJ30TP), the revised Walter ConeFit program includes other milling cutters such as the internally cooled, uncoated MD070. The wide selection of powerful, resharpenable milling heads offers great flexibility in use, as the user can employ various milling heads in one holder. The milling cutter change occurs in seconds – without conversion effort, with minimal downtime. Users, e.g., from mechanical engineering, energy, or automotive industries, thus receive an economically and technologically convincing solution that is easy to order, sustainable, and powerful.
