The GM geometry is suitable for turning metric ISO internal threads in partial profile. The chip shape geometry allows for short chips even with difficult-to-machine and long chip-forming materials. This reduces the risk of chip congestion, prevents chips from wrapping around the tool holder, and thus increases process reliability. Furthermore, chip breakage facilitates the handling of chips. The cutting inserts are suitable for metric internal threads starting from a core hole diameter of 5 mm with pitches from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm. Standard turning holders of the Supermini system are available as tool holders.
