The Styrian carbide and tool specialist Boehlerit has already established a worldwide successful sales cooperation (outside Germany) for thread rolling systems with Wagner Tooling Systems Baublies GmbH in 2024. Thread rolling is an innovative technology for producing threads through cold forming, where the material is plastically deformed under high pressure. This process allows for the production of threads with high strength and accuracy without interrupting the fiber flow of the metal.
Wagner's rolling systems are known for producing threads with high surface quality, tensile strength, and load capacity and are offered in various designs. The HELIX and RS axial rolling systems, as well as the tangential rolling systems, each provide specific advantages for different applications: The HELIX systems are compact and have large roller diameters, while the RS systems impress with interchangeable roller holders. The tangential rolling systems enable efficient thread production even behind a collar and can be used in tight spaces. Thread rolling is the fastest way to produce threads and leads to a time saving that is impressive.
Customized solutions are also offered to achieve optimal results in thread production. The systems are available in various sizes and are ideally suited for workpieces from M1.6 to MF75 mm.
Efficiency, flexibility, and durability combined
With the expansion of the HELIX axial thread rolling systems to three sizes and various variants, Wagner Tooling Systems ensures the production of threads in the diameter range from M6 to M22 or from 1/4" to 7/8".
The new HELIX systems particularly impress with their flexibility and process reliability. Due to compatibility with all clamping shafts, they can be easily integrated into existing systems without additional investments. With the HELIX closing device, the closing process is shifted from process time to auxiliary time. This increases the efficiency of the overall process and leads to even faster production. Furthermore, the flange-shaft interface ensures secure torque transmission and high roundness accuracy, thereby increasing the reliability of the overall process. Another advantage of the HELIX systems lies in their handling. The simple assembly and defined installation position facilitate use and ensure high reproducibility – a crucial factor for companies that focus on efficiency and quality.
In addition, the DLC coating provides additional wear protection and significantly extends the lifespan of the components. This ensures maximum wear protection for tribologically highly stressed components such as front and base plates, spring housings, and flanges. With this expansion, the companies Boehlerit and Wagner Tooling Systems Baublies GmbH emphasize their commitment to advanced solutions that enhance both the productivity and cost-effectiveness of their customers. The expansion of the HELIX axial thread rolling systems is another step towards more efficient and sustainable manufacturing.
