“Innovations for future demands – explore our machining world premiere”: Under this guiding theme, the CHIRON Group opened its halls from May 13 to 15.
On an area of 1,500 square meters, CHIRON presented itself at the Tuttlingen location. Visitors were shown 12 manufacturing centers live under cutting and smart automation solutions. The event was complemented by 35 partner companies.
Drum roll for the new Micro5 XL

Every day at 11:30 a.m., the new Micro5 XL was in the spotlight: the new micro machine for high-speed cutting of larger complex components up to 120 mm workpiece volume. With the Micro5 XL, the CHIRON Group makes the advantages of the Micro5 usable for an expanded range of applications, for medical and precision engineering as well as other demanding industries.
CTO Dr. Claus Eppler, product manager Michael Wurster, and Matthias Rapp explained the development details and advantages. The trio on stage was visibly pleased with the great interest and took the opportunity to dedicate the applause directly to the development team that brought the Micro5 XL to market readiness in record time.
Manufacturing solutions in live operation

In addition to the new micro machining center, the CHIRON Group showcased its machine solutions in all dimensions in live operation on exemplary workpieces. Many of these practical applications were accompanied by short impulse presentations. The combination of an FZ 12 S five axis with the compact robot cell Variocell MOVE demonstrated what intelligent workpiece handling can look like.
At the MT 715 two+, the integration of gearing technologies was the focus – for precise and efficient complete machining in just one machine. Quality for aerospace in productive series, on a single-spindle machining center? The solution for this requirement: the FZ 19 S five axis, in action while manufacturing struts for a landing gear assembly made of titanium grade 5.
Competence for the demands of tomorrow

The themed islands around digital solutions, refurbishment, and services were also heavily frequented. Here, the CHIRON Group also provided answers to the demands of tomorrow. The team led by Frank Geiselhart, Senior Vice President Global Service, informed among other things about maintenance contracts for consistently high machine availability, about repair packages for plug and motor spindles, and about PerformanceFinance. The combination of machine financing, data-based condition monitoring, and full service opens up new ways for companies to maximize their production technically and financially.
Direct exchange

Two new concepts from this year's OPEN HOUSE received positive feedback: The 35 partner companies presented themselves directly in the machine hall – in the immediate vicinity of the showcased manufacturing solutions. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged exchange, enabled spontaneous conversations, and new contacts.
OPEN HOUSE also in 2026
The OPEN HOUSE will also take place next year in spring, with the exact date to be announced later. One thing is already certain: The CHIRON Group remains a leading driver of future-oriented manufacturing solutions.
