Good chip control is crucial for increasing process reliability in turning. Especially the manufacturing of pockets in difficult-to-machine materials often presents a challenge. When high-pressure cooling systems are used, setup is often time-consuming. If operators have to manually capture production data, they lose valuable working time and there is also a risk of errors. Seco provides a solution with the JETI tool holder series (Jetstream Tooling Integrated): These combine the advantages of round insert geometries with the strengths of high-pressure cooling, ensure ideal chip behavior, shorten setup times, and are suitable for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT).

By using the tool holders with integrated high-pressure cooling, users can increase cutting speeds and feed rates, making JETI particularly suitable for pocket machining. The 3D-printed clamping jaws feature internal coolant channels that direct the coolant directly into the machining zone. This enables efficient chip control and removal. The coolant transfer occurs within the tool holder. External hoses and additional components are not necessary.

The design of the clamping jaws allows for quick and easy indexing or changing of the round inserts using a single screw. This helps users avoid long setup times and maximize the utilization of their machines.

Improving pocket machining

All JETI tool holders with Seco Capto connection are equipped with a hole for a separately available Balluff chip to enable automatic data collection and transmission via RFID. Fredrik Samuelsson, Product Manager at Seco, summarizes: 'With the JETI tool holders, companies can significantly improve their pocket machining.
