With the UE6 and RE6, Walter expands its GD26 portfolio with two new indexable insert geometries for medium machining. The Tübingen-based company now offers a total of 12 geometries in 7 highly wear-resistant Tiger·tec Gold grades for grooving and turning, turning and copy turning. The UE6 geometry is characterized by low cutting forces and very good chip formation during grooving and turning. RE6 full-radius inserts are designed for excellent surface quality and optimal chip control, especially during dynamic turning. Thanks to its large chip-breaking area, the UE6 geometry allows reliable chip removal during all grooving operations. The RE6 geometry provides the best conditions for copy and back turning. Both variants are designed for the Groov·tecGD turning system, whose stability allows for the lowest to above-average high cutting parameters.
Equipped with Tiger·tec Gold indexable inserts, Groov·tecGD is universally applicable for all ISO materials. The patented double-tooth profile is crucial for the high stability of the system. It prevents the cutting insert from being pushed out of the insert seat laterally. An increased center tooth also secures the insert against incorrect installation. In addition to significantly increased stability compared to conventional prism clamping, the tooth profile minimizes wear and reduces micro-vibrations. This increases tool life by approximately 50%. In combination with the (optional) precision cooling, users benefit from shorter cycle and machining times, higher productivity, and process reliability. Besides precision advantages in demanding machining, Groov·tecGD provides ideal conditions for low-manpower manufacturing as well as series production.
