1,500 square meters of exhibition space, twelve manufacturing and turnkey solutions for all user industries in live operation, including a world premiere for micro-machining in a new dimension and the dynamic yet productive DZ 22 W speed+. Additionally, 35 companies in the partner exhibition, a high-profile lecture program with topics such as stirring welding and gearing. Plus, presentations of the areas of expertise in services, automation, machine refurbishment, and digital solutions. The key data of the OPEN HOUSE sound promising and indicate a successful new edition of the established format.
World premiere of the new "must-have" for micro-machining

Here the Micro5 with workpiece volume of 50 mm, there the precision model FZ 08 S five axis with 250 mm. And in between? For workpiece volumes up to 120 mm, the novelty for expanded possibilities in demanding machining in medical, precision engineering, and beyond. Whether bone plates, knee inlays, dental discs, larger watch cases for chronographs, for example: With the new "must-have," the CHIRON Group, according to Senior Product Manager Michael Wurster, has scaled the successful concept in micro-machining for new applications.
More travel, higher cutting performance, short cycle times plus the proven advantages such as maximum precision, highest dynamics, and best resource efficiency:
The small revolution we started a few years ago in micro-machining is now finding its logical continuation." What the new machining center is called and what the name has to do with the machine features? Visitors will learn at the world premiere.
The name says it all: the new DZ 22 W speed+

With a spindle distance of 600 mm, the double-spindle 5-axis machining center DZ 22 W is ideally suited for the complete machining of large components, for series production in various industries. With the DZ 22 W speed+, the CHIRON Group now presents a new variant that has increased the already convincing productivity by up to 10 percent through constructive adjustments. Michael Eble, Head of Engineering and responsible for the machine platform, shares some key figures:
"A 20 percent higher acceleration, a 40 percent optimized jerk behavior, so that maximum speed is reached even faster after direction changes. Plus the new spindle with a startup time of 0.5 seconds and a chip-to-chip time of 2.0 seconds: The DZ 22 speed+ is, so to speak, the Formula One model of the series 22. It delivers constant top speed and ensures that this advantage safely brings our customers to the finish line."
Requirements and solutions perfectly combined – more machine highlights

A lot of power for the precise machining of materials like Inconel or titanium, combined with corresponding milling performance and dynamics: The FZ 19 S five axis demonstrates how productive series can also be manufactured on a single-spindle machine with a compact footprint. The working space is designed with 700 mm travel in Z, ideal for 5-axis simultaneous machining – for both cubic workpieces and cylinders. With the FZ 19 S mill turn, the experts in the interactive showroom present another variant of the series that can also handle turning applications.
A "perfect match" of requirements such as higher part variance, further optimized workpiece quality, and a convincing solution is also the combination of milling, turning, and gearing with the MT variants of the series 715. This allows all machining tasks to be performed on one machine in a single setup. The result is significantly more precise, the manufacturing processes leaner, and the logistics effort – keyword part tourism – lower.
Precision "in its own right" can be experienced at a special showcase: The FZ 16 S five axis manufactures machine stands for the Micro5.
Interesting alternatives to new purchases

But what if an investment in a new machine is not currently the top priority, yet the best manufacturing quality is? The CHIRON Group informs at the OPEN HOUSE about several alternatives: an individual refurbishment of an existing manufacturing center, a refurbished used machine, or PerformanceFinance. The innovative complete package combines top performance – for example, with a next-generation machining center from series 15 – with IoT analytics and maintenance by the CHIRON Group service.
At the focus of the industry meeting for Matthias Rapp, Vice President Global Marketing, is "of course the presentation of our innovations, but also the intensive personal exchange. The times are challenging for all players, our customers have to consider several goals at once. More flexible, productive, autonomous, resilient are just a few keywords. That’s exactly what we want to talk about, listen closely, and show solutions along the respective requirements that are future-proof and contribute to further success in global competition."
