The system enables high milling and surface qualities in smaller diameter ranges. The precise MDR short cone face milling system ensures plan runs in the µ-range. The easy and quick exchange of the PKD-equipped cutter with a carbide body is suitable for lean production processes and automated production systems. The carbide body also offers high stability and guarantees high durability even considering multiple reconditioning of the cutting edges. With one high-tooth and one low-tooth diameter variant, as well as a short and a long HSK63-A basic holder, the series is designed for stable milling processes on one hand and for face milling operations in deep structural components on the other. With a well-thought-out and screwed coolant distribution at the front, the system provides process-safe cooling properties.

When face or corner milling die-cast components made of aluminum, from machining engine or housing components to face milling contact surfaces of various non-ferrous metals, burr-free milling operations are essential. Accordingly, PKD-equipped cutting edges are the measure of all things. The DM90 series is specifically designed for these high-performance requirements.

It offers a high and low cutting variant in core dimensions from 50 mm to 125 mm in diameter. Horn provides the appropriate tool for these applications without time-consuming pre-setting of the cutting edges. The series impresses with great running smoothness and precise plan run accuracy in the µ-range. Whether in roughing cuts up to ap = 4 mm or in finishing cuts, the system achieves surface qualities smaller than Rz 4 µm.

Economy and productivity combined with Horn technology, high flexibility, and reliability offer the provider a wide selection of HORN tools in the field of high-hard cutting materials. The face mills of the DM70 and DM90 series complement the portfolio for process-safe aluminum machining in conjunction with five PKD shank cutter variants and a replaceable head milling system.
