"With Intec and Supplier Fair Z 2025, we have achieved a small feat. We are very pleased that exhibitors and visitors were able to achieve their goals so well and that the atmosphere was so positive, especially considering the current economic situation," explains Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of the Leipzig Trade Fair. The concept of Intec and Z currently offers exactly what is needed by machine and plant manufacturers as well as the supply industry: optimism and additional opportunities. The European industry meeting provided a platform for personal exchange and the associated initiation of new business with 733 exhibitors from 26 countries. Not only is the combination of suppliers and machine manufacturing unique, but also the focus on additional sales markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
Thus, the trade fair duo is not only a showcase for product innovations but also a platform for growth, reorientation, and adaptation to new economic realities. In the official survey, 89 percent of visitors indicated they would like to attend the fair again, and 94 percent would recommend the visit.
Job fair with many high-quality professional discussions
Numerous industry players were enthusiastic about the quality and quantity of the discussions, as visitors brought plenty of time to delve deeply into technical issues, discuss concrete problems, and even bring workpieces. The short distances of the event further contribute to this. The official survey also shows that more than two-thirds of visitors are top decision-makers or in advisory roles within their companies. Lars Herrmann from INDEX-Werke also praises, "The Intec is the most important trade fair for us in the region because it is very strong in customer acquisition. The trade fair duo Intec and Z brings together two worlds in Leipzig. On one hand, there are the manufacturers of machines and our clientele represented at the supplier fair. This makes the trade fair association unique."
Alexander Jakschick, Managing Director of ULT AG confirms: "This year we had more discussions than two years ago. Other exhibitors have noticed this too. The Intec presents a different picture than the current economic situation suggests. The Intec remains an important industry meeting point."
Central meeting point for producers very well received
Because hydrogen technologies offer enormous economic potential for Germany and open up entirely new business fields, the premiere of the exchange platform hy.tec has developed great appeal. With this additional topic area, the Leipzig Trade Fair has created a sought-after forum for professionals and decision-makers. 30 percent of surveyed trade fair visitors indicated they are active in the hydrogen economy or plan to be. The special aspect is that operators, plant builders, and a strong supply industry were brought together to jointly develop solutions for the challenges of series production. This is also confirmed by Dr. Paul Meißen, who represented Siemens AG with a booth and shared his expertise in the specialist forum, stating: "It is extremely helpful when interested parties can exchange ideas on various technological areas in a somewhat larger circle. The presentations were of very high quality and stimulating for further discussions. I explicitly support the further development and expansion of hy.tec."
International cooperation offers fertile ground
"All spots booked," was the message at the international business meetings, which also focused on the promising markets in Central and Eastern Europe. The interest in international markets, current perspectives, and challenges of the machine engineering markets in India, China, Central Asia, and Saxony was at the center of the very well-attended International Forum "Welcome to Saxony." In addition to these offerings in the supporting program, the international orientation was also reflected in the exhibitor and visitor structure, as explained by Sascha Gersmann from Citizen Machinery Europe GmbH: "Due to our location in Radebeul near Dresden, we have a connection to the region, and for us, the proximity to Eastern Europe, especially Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Poland, is also very important. Guests from abroad came specifically for the Intec because other trade fair locations are simply too far away." This year's supplier fair had a significant international presence with an exhibitor share of 38 percent. Among other things, international community stands from Bulgaria and the Czech Republic were found at Z.
Trade fair duo also firmly anchored in the calendar for 2027
The timing of the fair is ideal from the perspective of Klaus Kräher, CEO of Niles-Simmons-Hegenscheid, who believes it deserves a fixed place in the trade fair calendar. The next time exhibitors, visitors, and organizers of the International Trade Fair for Machine Tools, Manufacturing, and Automation Technology and Supplier Fair will meet is from March 2 to 5, 2027, in Leipzig. Markus Horn, Managing Director of Paul Horn AG, gladly agrees: "I am convinced of the Intec, and this year's event once again confirms our participation. We look forward to seeing you at the next Intec in Leipzig in 2027!"
