For an economical investment, manufacturing companies receive a modern CNC universal cylindrical grinding machine, which offers advantages such as high accuracy, short processing times, and intuitive operation.
In the latest generation, the favoritCNC features a modernized CNC control (FANUC 0i-TFP) and software as well as smart automation capabilities. With the new automatic operating door and loading interface, customers now have the option to automate their production themselves if desired. Further optimizations have been made in terms of sustainability and efficiency as well as ergonomics for even easier and safer operation. For example, user-friendliness has been significantly enhanced through the simple grinding wheel change aid and parking position for the tailstock within the machine (optional). New features also include the machine stand with a larger X-guide distance for even more stability of the grinding head, a resource-saving belt spindle system, the digital display of the swivel angle on the manual B-axis, and the optional QuickSet function for particularly fast changeovers.
Flexible application possibilities and high-quality components
In terms of equipment, STUDER also focused on flexibility with the new favoritCNC, which is particularly important for customers in this segment. Two grinding head variants are available: a fixed grinding head for productive external grinding (manual swivel 0° / 15° / 30°) or a universal grinding head for external and internal grinding (possible in one clamping, manual swivel 2.5° Hirth precision gearing).
In addition, there are numerous configuration options, such as a fixed or swiveling workpiece table or options like measurement control, balancing system, touch detection, and longitudinal positioning. This allows the machine to be adapted retroactively to different grinding tasks and production conditions.

For example, the workpiece spindle head, grinding spindles, guideways, and drives meet the high performance standards from the premium segment of STUDER. And the machine bed made from the in-house mineral casting Granitan S103 ensures excellent surface quality with outstanding damping and thermal properties, even in the favoritCNC.
Easy operation and smart software
The operation of the new favoritCNC is now even simpler and clearer - it is done at the machine via a 10.4-inch flat screen and an ergonomic handheld device close to the grinding process. In addition, modern digital solutions are available with the internally developed and optimized grinding software StuderPictogramming and StuderGRIND, which allow even complex grinding processes to be intuitively set up and controlled. On the new favoritCNC, it is now even possible to easily grind non-round and thread shapes with StuderThread and StuderForm. Thanks to the machine's digital capabilities, even employees with little prior knowledge in CNC grinding can quickly achieve high-quality results.
Additionally, the machine also masters manually guided hand grinding with the new Conventional Mode. This allows users to efficiently produce high-quality ground workpieces without any programming knowledge, making the transition from conventional to CNC control particularly easy. „As a result, the new favoritCNC is an optimal solution for a wide variety of different grinding applications“, summarizes CEO Bottazzo.
